Recap Online Module Syllabus

Course Description 
This is a self-paced, online learning module designed for teachers to better understand the 
Web 2.0 tool, Recap, and how it can be used in the classroom. This module will provide an 
overview on the basic tools of Recap and take teachers step-by-step through setting up an 
account, joining a queue, using the features of Recap from both the student’s and teacher’s 
perspective, and how to have students join a teacher’s queue. At the end of this course, 
teachers should feel confident in incorporating this tool into their own classroom.  
 
Objectives: 
● Teachers will know the features of Recap and how it relates to Distributed 
Summarizing. 
● Teachers will be able to create a Recap account. 
● Teachers will use the features of Recap to create text-based and video-recorded 
responses. 
● Teachers will create text-based questions and video response prompts using the tools 
in Recap. 
● Teachers will manage their Recap account to invite students to their designed queue.

Assessment 
Teachers will be assessed throughout the course of the online module through assessment 
prompts at the end of each task. The responses will be sent to the instructor for feedback. 
Teachers will submit their complete Recap queue used in their learning module to the 
instructor for final feedback.
