Activity 1. During this lesson, the teacher will reinforce the new material
learned the class before, conjugation of –ar verbs, with their
students.
2. To start the class the teacher will provide the students with a
warmup of working independently to see if they can
remember the conjugation chart for –ar verbs.
3. After the students have had time to complete the warmup,
the teacher will review the conjugation chart on the board
writing directly on the first page of the Smart Notebook
lesson so the students have an opportunity to correct their
work and be better prepared for the Smart Notebook
activities that follows.
4. On the next page the teacher will randomly select students to
come to the board one at the time and properly conjugate 1
of the 8 verbs presented. Once all the words have been
conjugated, the class will go over the answers their peers
provided, with the teacher being there to make corrections if
need be.
5. On the next page students will be prompted to create their
own sentences using the appropriate verb and verb form
provided. The teacher will instruct all the students to pull out

independently. When the students finish constructing their

sentences, the teacher will select 6 new students to share
their sentences by writing it directly on the Smart Board.
Throughout this process the teacher will step in if necessary
to give corrections.
6. On the next page, the students are expected to come to the
board in order to drag 1 one conjugated word into the igloo
with the appropriate verb form of the word. Every student
should have a chance to come up at least once, two at a time.
The teacher will be used as a facilitator throughout this
activity because they won’t need to step in, for if a student
makes a mistake the igloos are designed to spit out the words
that aren’t in the right place. (Page 6 will be skipped)
7. For the final activity, the teacher will split the classroom in
half creating two teams. A student from each team will come
up to the board one at a time to spin the wheel, pick a box,
and conjugate the verb. The teacher will oversee the activity
and refrain from intervening unless a student has a technical
question. The team will the most points at the end of the
