TITLE PMS duties and responsibilities on board A2PM-1.

PURPOSE

To define the PMS responsibilities and duties of the officers on board

GENERAL INFORMATION

Duties and responsibilities of officers on board

Both department heads (C/E & C/O) are responsible for ensuring that all maintenance is
conducted in compliance with agreed intervals and reported. The Master is still to see that
the company policies are complied with. It is the Chief Engineer's duty to ensure that the
necessary reporting is carried out.

Within the AMOS 2 database, the jobs have been assigned to all the vessel’s officers.
Changing of responsible persons for any PMS job can only be done in the office.

The method of handover for the CE is defined below. However each department head and
responsible maintenance officer should carry out the same checks.

Duties and responsibilities of the Technical Superintendent

The TSI is able to monitor the system remotely

The TSI is responsible for ensuring that maintenance is conducted in compliance with the
agreed intervals as outlined in the PMS.

Since the system is live and synchronizing with the office, only the following reports are not

anymore required to be sent to the office:

 Critical Equipment list

 Survey items due in 3 months

 List of overdue jobs

 List of repair jobs done

 Running hours with new values

 List of due jobs

In case of synchronization issues, the TSI may request the vessel to send the above
information via email.

Communication with the office through replication:

The vessel’s command (Master and Chief Engineer) are responsible to ensure that AMOS 2 is
operational at all times. In case of synchronization issues they will be notified by the office
and shall cooperate with the office PMS Support personnel to solve the issue

User accounts:

Each AMOS user is provided with a personal user account with login and password. The login
for every user is the CSM ID of the sea farer. The initial password of every user is: 1234

After the initial login, AMOS shall prompt the user to change the password, and a new
password must be set. The password should be kept secret. All entries done on the database
by each specific user are recorded with reference to the individual user.

Every user account is valid on any company vessel with AMOS 2.

The PMS Administrator in the office is the contact person for all matters regarding user
accounts and privileges.
