OBJECTIVES
The student,
The student,
-indicate the chemical action which take place in the electric cell
MATERIALS
BLACK BOARD
CHART
CONTENT OUTLINE
A cell is a device in which the free energy of a physical or chemical energy of physical or
chemical process is converted into electrical energy.
The reaction which take place in the electric cell are oxidation and reduction.
There are many example for cells galvanic cell, denial cell etc…
TEACHING SKILLS
1.INTRODUCING
The electric cell is the source of electric current. It is the the device which converts
the chemical energy into electrical energy.
2.EXPLAINING
3.QUESTIONING
There can be variation of teachers position in the class room while they teaching.
Variation in voice represents other dimensions. Use of media like charts, etc….There can also
be variation in the class room interaction pattern.
5.NON-VERBAL CUES
Positive non-verbal cues including smiling, nodding the head, delighted laugh, patting
on the shoulder, asking the student to clap etc……. can be used while the class is going on.
6.REINFORCEMENT
Positive verbal reinforces like saying good, very god, excellent, fantastic, right etc…
can be used in the class for the desirable behaviour of the students like being calm, clarifying
their doubts, answering questions, drawing the picture on the board.
7.CLOSURE/SUMMING UP
The topic will be summed up by the cell is mainly used for the storing the electric
current through the reaction on the electrode that is oxidation and reduction. That energy used
in day-today life.
8.FLUENCY IN COMMUNICATION
The topic will be discussed by explaining and interacting with the student by asking
questions and making the student to observe the charts etc… The teacher uses knowledge of
effective verbal and non-verbal communication technique as well as instructional media and
technology to foster active inquiry, collaboration and supportive interaction in the class room.
INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES
DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES(PRESENTATIONS,
INTERACTION,REFLECTIONS)
2.Presentations
The teacher announces the topic as “electric cell” and writes it on the black
board.(skill of explaining-cognitive link)
The teacher ask the student to categories the type of electric cell(recalls)
a) Anode b) cathode
The teacher uses aids like chart to show the chemical reaction which take place in
the cell. ( skill of explaining-uses of illustrations)
The oxidation take place the anode and the cathode through those raction the
chemical energy is converted into electrical energy.
The teacher ask to student to observe and identify and observe the cell from
drawings.(identifiers)
The teacher now show the chart illustrating different type of reactions in electrodes.(
identifiers)
The teacher ask the student to observe the chart and locate the anode and cathode.
The teacher point out the electrode and said the oxidation is take place at the anode.
(locate) and reduction at cathode.( recognises) observe the diagram of cell and compare it
with denial cell an galvanic cell(comparing)
The cell is a device which is used for converting the chemical energy into electrical
energy. There are two type of electrode one is anode and cathode. Through the oxidation and
reduction reaction the current is produced in the electrode. There are two type of cell.
Primary and secondary cell. Primary cell are used in clocks, watch, calculator etc.. Secondary
cell is just opposite to the primary cell. The secondary cell is reused. But the primary cell is
not used again.
