Immigrant Stories

1. There are 10 different stories about immigration that are posted on Google
Classroom. (Check it out in the About Section in the folder titled “Immigrant Story”.
Your group will be assigned one.
2. You will create a “Touchcast Presentation” telling the story of the life of an immigrant.
Everyone in your group should participate (have a speaking part) in your presentation.
3. Your presentation will include the following:
a. an image(s) to include for your background. This has to be something related to
the person. (Examples: picture of your person, Ellis Island or Angel Island,
where the person lived, general picture of immigrants, etc.)
b. summarize biographical information about your person. You will have to
research this. Information to include are: Where is this person from? What was
their “Immigrant Experience” Did they have a family? How did they make a
living?
c. summarize the story that this person told. What are their observations about
immigration? Also talk about who is telling the story and how you know. (look for
clues) What evidence indicates that this person wrote the story? How did this
person’s background shape what they wrote?
