Jimi Hendrix

Jimi Hendrix was born Johnny Allen

Hendrix on November 27, 1942 and passes
away in 1970. He was a guitarist, singer, and
songwriter. He won two grammies for
Lifetime Achievement award and /Hall of
Fame, he also won the NME award for most
missed. He left his mark on the world with
his rock and roll music and has remained
popular to this day
Kid Cudi

Born Scott Mescudi on January 30, 1984,

known as Kid Cudi, is a Grammy award
winning rapper and singer. He won the
Grammy Award for Best Rap/Sung
Performance He first gained recognition
after his debut mixtape “A Kid named Cudi”
was released and gained attention from
Kanye West.
The Inspiration

As a young kid, Cudi was “deprived” of rock and roll. When Cudi was
working on his album The Man on The Moon, he turned to Jimi for
inspiration. He really liked how he was and the feelings he got from
listening to Jimi’s music. During his studio sessions, Cudi would listen to
Jimi and was able to make that push from mixtape to album from gaining
inspiration from Jimi’s album Are You Experienced? Cudi believes that Jimi’s
first album Are You Experienced? Really inspired who he is today as an
artist.

Interpretation
Jimi Hendrix dedicated this song to the American indians.
This song is of their hardship they have endured. Their
struggle of not knowing what will happen. If they will be
alive for another . They would be so down they would not
see any hope for today, but if they survived today, they know
they could push themselves forward for another fight
which in terms gave them hope.

Interpretation
Cudi starts off refering himself as a child needing help.
Talking about needing as much help as he could get. He is
able to understand he doesn’t need any help that he could do
it all by himself if he really put his mind to it. He shows us
that he knows no one could stop him from fulfilling his
dreams.
