STEPS

1.Falling from height 1. Wear safety belts at edges and building corners.
Preparing formwork
2.Falling Objects 2. To provide life lines at locations that have no areas to attach safety
3. Trip & fall belts.
3. Falling points such as corners and edges of building to be securely
barricaded.
4. Supervisor to monitor on all jobs working at height.
5. Management & safety committee members to take disciplinary
actions against employees that do not wear safety belts while
working at height.
6. Proper surface should be placed on formwork to be used as
walkways and prevent trip & fall.
7. All loose woods / materials / tools must not be kept at edges of
building where there is a risk of falling.
8. All openings or holes must be securely covered to prevent workers
from falling in.

7. Supervisor must monitor and barricade are below while removing
formwork at the top to prevent any other person from being hit by
falling woods / objects.
8. All openings or holes must be securely covered to prevent workers
from falling in.

6. All tools to be kept in bags securely to prevent from falling.
7. Area below the erection of scaffolds must be barricaded and a
supervisor placed to ensure no people movement in the hazard area.
1. To conduct a daily check on hoist ropes for better assurance.
2. Weekly inspection is recommended to be done by a competent
technician.
3. 1 signal man must be appointed to supervise on the crane
movements.
4. To ensure bricks are securely fasted before lifting.
5. Cement opening must be ensured closed while lifting.
1. Since the barbending area is exposed to the hazard of falling
objects, the following actions are recommended:
- Nettings & scaffolds must be erected above current building
level to prevent objects from falling and causing accidents to the
workers below.
- Or the barbending area must be shifted to a safe location.
1. To be provided with dust masks.
1. Fire watching to be appointed
2. Fire extinguisher to be provides
3. Only trained and competent persons to carry out the task operation
4. Check the extraction/ ventilation system is operational. Work to
stop on failure of extraction systems.
