y - students will then collaborate and analyze the readings on this map
- if they come across a vocabulary word that is unfamiliar, they will put a circle
around it.
- Then who ever recognizes the word can make a comment on it and can also
define it.

Ped Activity - Have students read a book
agog - they then will create a poem about any character within the book
y - after their selection, they are to make a poem about that character
- then once they are then, the teacher will split them into groups of 3 to read
and reflect on one another’s polems
- How they will use their app is to draw their character using draw and tell.
- this app will then use the character they built to read their poem
- each group would have to use groupme to discuss their strengths and
weaknesses afterwards.

b) understanding the relationship between the environment and the culture of
ancient China and Egypt
2.6 The student will demonstrate map skills by constructing simple maps using title,
map legend and compass rose

Ped Activity - During class the teacher will start the day with a small map game on the
agog whiteboard which will have all the students engaged and ready to learn.
y - The game will consist of a map of the region in which these three countries are
located. The teacher will ask the class, “ Looking at this map, which of the
countries are located there?” She or he can then pick a student to white or
drag the name of that country into the space they think it is.
- After this warm up, the teacher will ask each student to make a map and
include the title, legend and compass.
- With their maps they will get into two or three groups and explain how they
constructed their maps.
- For homework, the teacher will post the notes and an assignment onto
Piratepad
- This pad will help each other student to collaborate effectively by responding
to the prompt the teacher posted and making a comment on things they don't
understand as well

- For homework they are to work with one person using piratepad to identify
what characteristics China and Egypt have in common. They are to create a
venn diagram using pictures from each country
