Overcurrent protection & Earth fault Protection. [8]

3. (a) Alternator Types on construction basis. What is Armature Reaction in

Alernator? [8]

(b). A lighting load of 600 KW & a motor load of 707 KW at 0.707 p.f. are
supplied by two alternators running in parallel. One of the machines supplies 900
KW at 0.9 p.f. lagging. Find the load of the second machine. [12]

4. (a) Define Kirchhoff’s Law. These laws are applicable for alternating current
circuit? [8]

(b). Find out the current flowing through 10 ohm resistance using Thevenin’s
Theorem. [12]

5. (a) Describe the constructional & working principle of single phase capacitor
type Induction Motor. [8]
