SPECIFICATION FOR HIGH FREQUENCY CO-AXIAL CABLE

(1) PREAMBLE:
The High Frequency Co-axial cable is required for interconnection
of "Indoor PLCC Carrier Terminal" and "Line Matching /Coupling
Units." This will be laid under ground or through cable trench. Co-axial
cable shall efficiently carry the PLCC signals from Carrier Terminal to
Outdoor Line Coupling Units, which will be ultimately transmitted to
remote station via number of Outdoor PLCC Equipments.

(2) STANDARD :
The Co-axial cable proposed to be supplied under this specification
shall confirm to Indian Standard Specification No. IS 11967 (Part
2/Sec.1)/1989 & its latest amendments for Radio Frequency Co-axial
Cable type R 75-5-B100 for PLCC applications.

(3) SPECIFICATIONS :
The Characteristic Impedance of Radio Frequency Co-axial cable
shall be 75 Ohm unbalanced. This cable shall confirm to IS 11967 (Part
2/Sec.1): 1989 and its latest amendment for PLCC application unless
otherwise categorically required under this specifications. The cable
offered shall also confirm to IS 5026/1987 "General Requirements &
Tests for Radio Frequency Cables" with latest revision. The colour of
outer jacket shall be grey.
The bidder shall furnish a dimensional sketch of the cable offered
indicating Central Conductor, cable core and Air Spaced Dielectric, outer
conductor, Barrier, Inner Jacket, Armouring and Outer Jacket showing
diameter, thickness as well as material used. The armour shall be good
quality Galvanised Steel wire having diameter of 1.4 mm size. The
armour wire shall be laid as close as possible and shall cover
minimum coverage of 70%.
In addition to this the full constructional particulars shall be
furnished in Annexure A with the offer.

(4) SCOPE :

The supplier shall have to supply 75 Ohms unbalanced Co-axial

cable suitable for PLCC application of very good quality as per
specifications.

(5) GENERAL :

(a) The Co-axial cable shall be supplied in maximum

continuous length detailed as under: -
(i) 50% of ordered quantity in continuous length not less
than 500 Metres.
(ii) 50% of ordered quantity in continuous length not less
than 250 Metres.
A tolerance of ± 5% is permissible in continuous
length stated above.
(iii) Each drum shall contain only one continuous length
however if more than one piece is wound in a drum in
that case No. of pieces and length of each piece shall be
indicated on drum.

(b) Each cable drum shall have following marking:

(i) Manufacturer's Name :
(ii) Order No. :
(iii) Nos. of pieces & length of each :
(iv) Total Length of cable :
(v) Description of cable :
(vi) Date of Manufacture :

(c) Measurement of Length:

The supplier shall provide at his works the necessary facilities
for measurement of cable length of the drum. The cable length
of drums shall be measured by the inspector. The length
measurement results shall be recorded in the test report.
(d) The length of cable in the drum shall be measured at random
after receipt of material in store.
Total shortage shall be worked out on prorata basis considering
the shortage observed in sample measurement and amount for
each shortage shall be deducted from the supplier's bill. + 5%
variation shall be allowed.
(e) The supplier shall have to get, the sample of cable ordered,
approved from Addl. Chief Engr. (Telecom & Testing),
G.E.T.C.O., Gotri prior to manufacturing bulk quantity if
required by GETCO.

(f) The quantity and size of the cable to be supplied is indicated in

tender. The GETCO reserves right either to increase or decrease
the quantity at the time of placing the order.
(g) The GETCO reserve right either to accept or reject any of the
offers without assigning the reason.

(6) PREQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

1. The bidder shall be Manufacturer of the HF Co-axial cable offered.
The Offers from The traders or authorised dealers are not acceptable.
The offered Co-axial Cable should have been designed, manufactured and
tested as per relevant IS/IEC Standards with latest amendments.
2. The bidder should indicate manufacturing capacity by submitting fresh
certificate of a Chartered Engineer (CE).
3. HF Co-axial Cable proposed to be supplied by bidder of similar or higher
rating shall be in service for a minimum period of THREE (3) years.
The Satisfactory performance certificate of corporate office of respective
utilities should be submitted.
4. The bidder should clearly indicate the quantity and single value contract
executed during last FIVE (5) years, for the offered HF Co-axial.

The details of past supplies should cover,

i) Same rated Co-axial Cable as Offered supplied to GETCO (Erstwhile
known as GEB).
ii) Higher rated Co-axial Cable than Offered supplied to GETCO
(Erstwhile known as GEB).
iii) Same rated Co-axial Cable as Offered supplied to other Power Utilities
during last FIVE years & with Performance Certificate for last three
years.

5. The bidder shall furnish the copies of type test reports for the Co-axial Cable
Offered and shall have all Valid Type Test Certificate of not later than 5
Years from NABL accredited or International Laboratory.
6. The bidder shall furnish the full technical details & drawings for the Co-axial
cable offered.
7. The bidder shall have the experience of at least 10 years of manufacture &
supply of similar type of HF Co-axial Cable.
8. The bidder shall furnish the full details of the orders executed.
9. Any deviation shall be clearly indicated separately.

10. The bidder should have necessary testing facility at their works for
Testing the cables offered as per relevant Standards.

11. The bidder shall furnish the Technical details of the cable offered in
Guaranteed technical particulars enclosed with the specification.

(7) TYPE TESTS:

Valid type test reports not more than 5 Years old performed for following
tests along with all test results sheets & reference documents shall be submitted
with the offer with ‘List of Type Tests’ in Performa- X Given here under.
