To Whom It May Concern;

It is a pleasure to write a letter of recommendation for Viky Villanueva. Viky was a student in my Child Development
class in her junior year at Merced High School. I have known her since August 2016. As a student, Viky consistently
demonstrates qualities that will enable her to be successful. She maintains a good attendance record; she is attentive
and follows directions. She completes all assignments in a timely manner. Viky works well on both individual and
group projects, working effectively and cooperatively with fellow students. She participates in class and expresses
herself well in both writing and speaking. She takes a leadership role with her peers, facilitating group discussion,
collaboration and task delegation.

Viky has maintained a 3.94 GPA through high school in upper level/advanced placement courses throughout high school.
She has served many hours of community service through various events: Alzheimer's Walk, MCOE, Special Education
Summer School, coaching Colorguard at a local middle school and Fraternal Order of Eagles. She has a passion for
working with the Special Education students on campus. She is in the Peer Assisted Learning Program designed to
encourage peer interaction with special needs students at Merced High School through assistance with daily school
related tasks. She has been in the P.A.C.I.F.I.C club for the last two years, this club encourages interaction on a social
level by “hanging out” with the students to play games , talk, eat lunch, school dances, etc.

Viky has been a Link Leader this year. The Link program is designed to assist incoming freshman to acclimate to the
high school experience. She has been a member of the Gateway Scholars program at Merced High for the past ___
years. This program provides students with additional support systems from college mentors to assist students in
pursuing postsecondary education.

Viky has been in the MHS Varsity Colorguard all four years, serving as captain in her sophomore year and section leader
for the last three years. She has served on the Band Council and loading crew. As a member of the loading crew she
was in charge of the band, colorguard and percussion equipment loading and unloading when they travel. This is a
responsibility that requires leadership, communication, flexibility and patience.

As a first generation college student in her family she is dedicated and focused on her post secondary education. She
has the determination and work ethic to be a successful college student. She is courageous, patient and she has a great
sense of humor. These character traits will serve her well as she pursues her college education and future career. If you
have any questions, please contact me.

Sincerely,

Tammie L Meyer
