Unit2 Worth the risk?

Title of the lesson: The Great Outdoors

Timing: 50 minutes

Lesson Aims: 1) to encourage speaking and comprehension skills;

2) To practise reading for specific information;

3) To introduce new vocabulary- extract meaning from context;

Skills: speaking, reading, writing

Aids: textbook, notebook, chalk, blackboard

Types of activities: Whole class work, pair work, individual work

Type of interaction: T-Ss, S-S

Procedure

Warm-up: whole class work/ 5 minutes


T. greets Ss asks them if there are any Ss missing.Then the T checks the homework and
asks Ss questions from the previous lesson.

Pre-reading: pair work/ 15 minutes


Before the Ss look at the questions, T asks them to brainstorm as many outdoor activities as
possible and asks them why people enjoy doing these things. Then the T asks them to think
what kind of outdoor activity does each photo show. After that the T asks them to skim the
text and match the photos to the appropriate text.

Reading: whole class work/ 10 minutes


Ss read the text aloud trying to extract the meaning of unknown words from context.

After- reading: pair work/ 8 minutes


T asks students to read the text again and solve exercise 2 , page 24. They have to read
the text again and solve it in pairs.

Speaking: whole class work/ 10minutes

The T asks the Ss to discuss some questions in pairs and then with the whole class.

Homework: 2 minutes
They have to answer the questions from exercise 3, page 25
