Analyzing Data

After analyzing the class mathematics test results covering addition, subtraction, and division, this is my
conclusion:

The class, as a whole, did not do well on this test with nearly half the class failing. However, many of the
students did well on questions regarding addition with subtraction following right behind. Most students
failed with the division questions.

I would suggest reviewing addition and subtraction and then retesting omitting the division questions.
Then, provide further instruction and practice for division and have a separate test on the topic.

Juan did exemplary well on every topic tested receiving a perfect score on the test. Cody also got an
excellent score on his test only missing one addition question. When the time comes, consider letting Juan
and Cody assist their peers with solving practice problems. Hugh was one of the three students who
received a B on the test. Out of the three questions Hugh got incorrect, two of them were division.

Luke received the lowest score in the class. He averaged the same across all topics tested. One-on-one
guidance may be necessary to gain improvements for all topics. Nathan also struggled with the test
scoring the lowest with subtraction. He will definitely need further instruction for subtraction. Sarah was
another student who failed the test. She did well with the addition questions and with a review and
additional practice, she could do better with subtraction; however, Sarah struggled the most with division
out of all the students in the class. When the time comes to reinstruct division, Sarah may need additional
assistance and practice.
