decorate the house. They were making preparations for a celebration. It will be their
grandmother’s eightieth birthday in a fortnight’s time. She has been living them for the past ten
years. The whole family worked together to get the house ready for a grand reunion dinner with
their relatives and friends. Sarinah and her sister dusted the furniture and wiped the window
while her younger brother, Asri put up some colourful lights in the hall. Her elder brother, Johan,
helped their mother to hang up new curtains. Sarinah’s mother cooked their grandmother’s
favourite dish , dry mutton curry. On the day of the celebration, the whole family and their
relatives got together. Sarinah’s grandmother was very happy to see all her grandchildren . She
played games like ‘congkak’ and chess with them. It was the most memorable birthday she had ever
had. She was very happy.

Read the recipe below carefully and answer the questions.

CHOCOLATE RAISIN CAKE

Ingredients.
 200 gm flour
 120 gm sugar
 75 gm cocoa powder
 100 gm raisins
 2 eggs
 130 gm unsalted butter
 2 cups of milk
 1 teaspoonful of baking powder

Method.
1. Mix the butter and sugar in a bowl.
2. Beat the eggs.
3. Add the beaten eggs into the mixture.
4. Add the flour, baking powder, cocoa powder. Mix well.
5. Add the raisins. Pour in the milk. Stir slowly.
6. Pour the mixture into a baking tray.
7. Bake in the oven for about 30 minutes at 175º Celcius.
