After doing a warm-up, acquiring background knowledge from a mini lecture, reading a
primary source document, discussing with a group, presenting findings to the whole
group, and completing a graphic organizer, students will be able to compare the five major
motives for 19th century Imperialism with 100% accuracy.

What are the pros and cons of the five major motives for 19 th century Imperialism?
- Two students from each group will present their findings to the whole group.
- All students will be held accountable for all information by completing the entire
graphic organizer.
- This will be collected at the end of the class period.
