Ashia is well prepared for each lesson with numerous resources. She participates in grade level collaboration and seeks help, when
needed, from all of the teachers on the grade level. She uses gathered data to adjust lessons for each group based upon ability. Her
lessons are differentiated to meet the needs of all learners.

Ashia uses the Virginia Beach objectives and Standards of Learning to plan lessons accordingly. She works closely with the Gifted
Resource Teacher to adapt lessons for the high achievers, as well as plans remediation for students needing additional practice.

Students are excited to work with Ashia in small math groups, as she introduces new skills with manipulatives, such as tooth picks and
clay to explore geometric solid figures, or lines, line segments, rays, etc. Ashia has quickly embraced the technology tools and
programs used in our classroom. (Chromebooks, Google Classroom, Promethian Board, Google Earth, Hyperdocs, BrainPop,
Tenmarks, Fastmath, Fraction Nation, Prodigy, Achieve 3000, System 44, Smarty Ants, Bookflix, Tumblebooks, Scholastic Story

tickets, formative and summative assessments, and teacher observation to determine mastery. Ashia has remediated students based
upon MidYear and Quarterly data. She provides frequent feedback to students.

Ashia established relationships with students very quickly. She spent time getting to know them. Ashia speaks to the students in a
friendly welcoming manner, but is definitely looked up to as a figure of authority. She is firm, fair, and consistent with her discipline.
Ashia's behavior expectations are clear, and she follows through with her discipline plan while recognizing students for appropriate
behavior.

Ashia is extremely professional and has worked well with the Gifted Resource Teacher, Math Specialist, Reading Specialist,
Instructional Technology Specialist, Librarian, and other 3rd grade teachers. She is comfortable asking for help and sharing her ideas.
Ashia is a great team player, and she fits in with our staff beautifully.

Ashia recently completed the unit on lines, line segments, rays, etc. She administered the preassessment, created groups, taught the
lessons, and gave formative and summative assessments. As a direct result of Ashia's instruction, the students were extremely
successful on the summative assessment. Only one student will require additional remediation and instruction.
