ACT ONE

SCENE ONE
Cam opens as Mr Okezie returns home from office

MR OKEZIE: Darling! I’m home!

MRS OKEZIE: (walks into shot) Sweetheart welcome. How was office today?

MR OKEZIE: Fine, but a bit stressful

MRS OKEZIE: OK! Go and freshen up while i prepare your dinner. (Both of them walk out of stage)

SCENE TWO
Cam opens on Mrs Okezie on phone with her Doctor

MRS OKEZIE: Yes Doctor i have done that, yet it’s still the same. Hmmmm...... Ok! I will do it and get
back to you (Just then her husband walks into shot and she ended the call)

MR OKEZIE: Honey! Who was that?

MRS OKEZIE: Doctor Francis

MR OKEZIE: Oh! How is he? Any news?

MRS OKEZIE: Nope, still stale mate

MR OKEZIE: Honey they have been lots of retrenchment at the office and a lot of my colleagues have
lost their jobs due to this economic recession in the country.

MRS OKEZIE: Sweetheart hope you are not affected?

MR OKEZIE: No! But LINUS my friend was sacked today.

MRS OKEZIE: Hmmmm.... what a pity. Anyway, you don’t need to bother your head over this.
Remember that IYA ORISHA that gave you this job assured you that you can never lose it.

MR OKEZIE: that’s true, but honey sincerely i’m afraid oo, because even Linus my friend also got this
job through IYA ORISHA

MRS OKEZIE: In that case we will visit IYA ORISHA immediately.

MR OKEZIE: Ok lets go honey ( both of them walks out of stage)

SCENE THREE
Cam opens on IYA ORISHA shrine as she walks in with her Apprentice – OMINIKOKO singing and
chanting as MR & MRS OKEZIE walk in. IYA ORISHA renews her cham for him and reassures him
that nothng will happen to his job

SCENE FOUR
Cam opens on Bola and Ekaete coming back from stream gossiping about MRS OKEZIE’S childless
situation when suddenly they are being confronted by Loretta.

SCENE FIVE
Cam opens on MRS OKEZIE cleaning their living room when Mama (Okezie’s mother) comes visiting

MAMA: (knocks & asks) who dey house ooo

MRS OKEZIE: ( excitedly rushes to welcome her) MAMA wel...come... how was your..

MAMA: (she cuts in on her daughter-in-law) eh... hold am there MONICA. Na you suppose come
welcome me, abi na my grand children? For over 15 years wey you don marry my pikin still you no
want give me grand children. Infact today i prepare well well come for you

MRS OKEZIE: But MAMA I’m not God that gives children...

MAMA: Oh! Monica you still dey blow grammar. Infact i go show you today. Wether na u be God or
not, my pikin no fit dey marry another man like am put for house. So, today prepare to carry your
load comot for my pikin house

MRS OKEZIE: MAMA na me u dey call man? See MAMA u no fit comot me from my husband house.
Wetin sef. Na my fault say i never born?

MAMA: (very angrily) which house be your house? My pikin house? Your husband abi my pikin? So
you even still get mouth to talk to me eh... (MAMA rushes at her and both runs out of stage)

SCENE SIX
Cam opens on MR & MRS OKEZIE and MAMA discussing in the living room

MR OKEZIE: we have done everything medically possible but still she can’t conceive.
MAMA: eh eh, ok that means you go marry another wife be that

MR OKEZIE: Ah ah MAMA why you go suggest that? I love my wife oo. I can’t marry another woman.
NEVER

MAMA: oh hoooo, e be like say this witch don cook kobnomi give you chop abi? Okezie so you don
chop kobnomi abi

MRS OKEZIE: (calling out angrily) MAMA MAMA MAMA MAMA.... Honey talk to MAMA o, talk to
MAMA o

MR OKEZIE: MAMA e don do. No dey call my wife names. I no like am at all. If you get any other
solution tell us

MAMA: OK! Make una go visit IYA ORISHA. You know say she get power well well. Make una visit am
im go give una pikin, because im dey give people pikin well well

MR OKEZIE: OK! MAMA we don hear you. We go go see am.

ACT TWO
SCENE SEVEN
Cam opens on MR OKEZIE seated in his living room when LINUS visits and knocks on the door

MR OKEZIE: Yes! Come in the door is open

LINUS: OKEZ! OKEZ! (Shakes hand while exchanging pleasantries)

MR OKEZIE: LINUS my friend! You are welcome. Please make yourself comfortable (LINUS sits). How
are you doing?

LINUS: I’m fine ooo. How your side naa? How is the office?

MR OKEZIE: My guy you don see us finish naa. I dey oo. Guy they are still sacking people. You know
Yemisi in the account department

LINUS: YES! M.D’s girlfriend

MR OKEZIE: Yeah! She and a couple of others were sacked today. My brother its really terrible. So
how have you been coping?

LINUS: My brother it’s not been easy, but thanks to naija bet and Baba Ijebu. I’ve been sustaining
myself through that means.

MR OKEZIE: How? I don’t get it

LINUS: My brother don’t worry. I will show you the way if you care. I should be on my way because
Chelsea vs Arsenal is about to start.
MR OKEZIE: Eh eh! Let me get my shirt and see you off.

SCENE EIGHT
Cam opens as MR OKEZIE walks into his living room dejected, sad and sank into the chair as his wife
walks in.

MRS OKEZIE: HONEY you are back so early. (on a closer look at her husband she discovers his moody
appearance and asks). Honey! Are you alright? What is troubling you?

MR OKEZIE: (without uttering a word, stands up, slowly hands over the sack letter and walks out of
stage)

MRS OKEZIE: What is this? (She opens the letter, reads it and calls out to her husband as she exits
the stage)

SCENE NINE
Cam opens on OKEZIE & LINUS wallowing in their lost of the game they played

MR OKEZIE: Chai! I’m finished! That was my savings

LINUS: Don’t worry; we will make it big in the next game

MR OKEZIE: (Very angry and highly disappointed yells at Linus) which next game are you talking
about? My money is gone! My wife and I are finding it very difficult to feed. My landlord is on my
neck. I have borrowed money from virtually everyone I know. Ah! WHAT HAVE I DONE?

LINUS: Guy stop all these women talk and be a man. After all you are not the only one in this.
Loosing today doesn’t mean you will lose tomorrow.

MR OKEZIE: What kind of nonsense is coming out from your mouth. I just lost my last savings and
here your talking about betting another. What am i even doing with you. Chai! (he walks out while
LINUS goes after him telling him to be a man)

SCENE TEN
Cam opens on Bola, Ekaete and Lauretta gossiping MR OKEZIE & his wife. Talking about how he
has sold virtually all his landed properties and other valuable possession and lost all gambling.
Also talking about his wife’s barreness.#
SCENE ELEVEN
Cam opens on IYA ORISHA & her apprentice OMINIKOKO chanting their way into their shrine. Mr &
Mrs Okezie visits and narrates their problems to her.

IYA ORISHA: (Says some incantation and performs some abrakatabra and responds) Ogugu has
heard your request. Ogugu said you will bring the following for rituals: the liver of an ant, the eye of
a tortoise, the kidney of a lion, a pregnant lizard and N20,000 for data subscription.

MR OKEZIE: AH! IYA! Where on earth do you expect me to get all those things. Or is Ogugu not
capable of giving me another job and a child (IYA angrily cuts in)

IYA: Taaa! How dare you insult Ogugu? Do you want ogugu to strike you? ( OKEZIE & HIS WIFE
quickly apologizes)

MR OKEZIE: But IYA why is Ogugu requesting for such hard things?

IYA: It’s because Ogugu has limited resources. Ogugu is not inexhaustible. Ogugu collects from one
and gives to another who is ready to pay the prize. So, if you want another job and a child from
Ogugu, go and brings the items listed. (Mr & Mrs Okezie walks out while IYA follows suit)

SCENE TWELVE
Cam opens on Mrs Okezie walking along the road and meets her school friend FAVOUR. They
exchange pleasantries. Mrs Okezie shares her problems with Favour who seizes the opportunity to
talk to her about Christ and follows her home to talk to her husband. Favours makes arrangement to
take them to her Pastor and they agree

SCENE THIRTEEN
Cam opens on Pst Florence and her church head user, Sis Jane studying the bible. Sis Favour walks in
with Mr & Mrs Okezie and introduces them to Pst Florence. After sharng their problem to Pst
Florence, they were led to Christ and Pst Florence scheduled a family deliverance for them. Light
fades

SCENE FOURTEEN
Cam opens on the living room of Mr & Mrs Okezie as Pst Florence, Sis Jane and Favour walks in and
commences deliverance. A demon comes to mount a resistance but was rebuked and casts out.
SCENE FIFTEEN
Cam opens on Mr Okezie & Mrs Okezie rejoicing as a result of the multiple goodness they received.
Finally Mrs okezie is pregnant with twins and Mr Okezie receives letter of appointment from the
presidency as the minister of Petroluem. The entire atmosphere becomes agog with joy and
jubilation as songs of praise erupts (I worship you by Sinach)
