Alexa Julian's Selfieometry!

1 - This baseball is also a circle! A circle is a shape with all points equidistant from the center.

2 - This is a huge triangle, a polygon with 3 sides and 3 vertices. Within this triangle are right triangles (triangles with 1 right
angle each) and squares (quadrilaterals with 4 right angles and 4 congruent sides).
3 - Here, you can see an angle bisector. The angle bisector splits an angle into 2 congruent parts/angles.
4 - This fence contains parallel lines. Parallel lines are always the same distance apart and will never touch or intersect.
5 - Here is an acute angle. An acute angle is an angle with a measure less than 90 degrees.

6 - If two parallel lines a and b are cut by transversal c, then their alternate interior angles 1 and 2 are congruent. The alternate
interior angles are on opposite sides of the transversal and in the interior of the 2 parallel lines.
7 - The edges of the bricks form perpendicular lines. Perpendicular lines are lines that, upon intersecting, form right angles.
8 - Amidst these wires and poles a polygon is formed! The polygon is a pentagon, which has 5 sides.
9 - The altitude of this triangle is the perpendicular segment coming from a vertex of the triangle to the line containing the
opposite side.
10 - The stars on this flag are concave. If you were to extend the segments of these shapes they would extend into the interior as
if they were "caving in," making the figures concave.

11 - What do you call a crushed angle? A rectangle!

Here is a rectangle, a quadrilateral with 4 right angles. Additionally, rectangles have congruent diagonals.
12 - Here is an isosceles trapezoid, a quadrilateral with exactly one pair of parallel sides and 2 congruent legs.
13 - While it may be a "diamond" in baseball, in Geometry we call this a rhombus. A rhombus is a quadrilateral with 4 congruent
sides. Rhombuses also have perpendicular diagonals and each diagonal bisects a pair of opposite angles.
14 - It looks like just a regular old stop sign, but it's actually a regular polygon! The polygon has 8 sides (making it an octagon);
all 8 of these sides are congruent and all 8 angles are congruent, too, which makes it a regular polygon.
15 - Here is a parallelogram, a quadrilateral with both pairs of opposite sides parallel. It has many properties including
congruent opposite sides and congruent opposite angles.
