Friend, fellow villager ,fellow townsman

Expressing honest respect to you and to each citizen of Apokorona as well as being aware of
inhabitants 'needs and the new municipality, j am in the pleasant position to announce my nomination.
I intent to regenerate our land, the local society of Apokorona and the new municipality with
eagerness, strong wish , knowledge, doggedness and determination.
Simultaneously j am pleased to declare that in the short future j will complete the creation of a voting
paper which will be united, fighting, independent as we have the goal to be all together in the focus of
your trust and estimation.
We urge each citizen to trust us as we act away from political reliance and interests of petty politics.
We are completely aware of the responsibility which we undertake and we covenant to come up to your
expectations , the needs and the demands of our local society. We can give our pledge to you for the
renaissance of Apokorona as we have to join our passion with all of you who realize that our daily life is
downgraded.

According with the plan 'Kalikratis', the joining of all the small
municipalities of Apokorona:

· The Supporter of the Citizen and the enterprise is enacted in every municipality and region.
The Supporter is a person of high prestige , elected by increased majority with certain service and
under the supervision of the advocate of the Citizen.

· The institution of the municipal ÊÅÐ for citizens 'service is strengthened and modernised
through the creation of small municipal KÅÐ which will offer basic services of the municipal and
regional self-government as close to the citizen as possible.

· The clever card of the citizen is brought in. Using it the municipalities will serve citizens
'needs automatically [e.g. in the printing of certificates] and their participation in democratic
procedures [e.g. local referendum] is facilitated.

· The municipalities will be equipped with the necessary facilities [machines of automatic
service – municipal ÁÔÌ] which will be set in the municipal Ê.Å.Ð. and will provide citizens with the
automatic service round the clock , 365 days of the year.

· The obligatory publication of any decision on Internet so as to be applied with complete

transparency. This means equal access to the information for all citizens.

· The role of the local councils is enhanced with more funds and responsibilities so as
citizens to participate directly, with determination in matters concerning the daily life in
neighbourhood and village.

Except the above mentioned, from this time forward our goal is Apokoronas to get all
these which it deserves…..

1. Programming and planning for the solution of problems.

2. Exploitation of chances and possibilities.
3. Participation and contribution of specialists for direct and positive confrontation of problems
of Apokorona.
4. Public dialogue with citizens
All these are factors which lead to the rational presence of our political part in the future
management of the local authority which will not be limited in a simple administration of the day
life but we will fight and try to enhance the quality of living in Apokorona as well as to guarantee
a better and more optimistic future for young people.

Our combative, full of doggedness and promises which will be applied ….. presence in the
management of the municipality of Apokorona , is relied on:
· Respect to citizens
· Equality of rights
· Meritocracy
· Collective participation
· Being answerable to citizens
· Check from you yourselves.

We can, we are present and ready to fight so as Apokoronas to be strong, remarkable, innovative
in order to have the future which it deserves.

We give priority to:

· The rational administration of water resources of the Municipality for sufficient irrigation and
quality in the drinking water, with optimization of the water system.
· School establishments.
· The health and the enhancement of primary medical services
· The important sporting facilities [football courts, bicycle track, gyms, park of traffic
education, shooting range].
· The creation of new place and up-to- date services for young people.
· The protection and presentation of the tradition.
· The environment
· The provincial road system.
· The well being of citizens, the inhabitant of Apokorona, the stockbreeder, the farmer.
· The presentation of the identity of Apokorona, settlements, villages, professions.
· The equal development of all regions and all villages of the new municipality.
· The tourism, preserving our physiognomy, culture, civilization.
· The improvement of primary sector [certified biological products].
· The completion of sewerage and the creation of a new municipality according to its needs.

· A safe land for those who need support
· A land of safe driving with safe entrance and exit from the national roads of north and
south Crete.
· A land of respect to the history as well as a land that preserves the monuments

We have already studied:

1. The zoning plan…
2. The exploitation of the mountainous area
3. The benefits of a completely manned technical department.
4. The creation of a team for citizens ' protection from natural disasters.
5. The establishment of an office in the town of Chania which will facilitate procedures of
bureaucracy for inhabitants of Apokorona.
6. The enhancement of the existent offices for citizens 'service, called Ê.Å.Ð. and the function
of new ones in every region of the new municipality and in every big village.
7. The provision of the community of Apokorona with 2 ambulances and two motorcycles for
the offer of First Aids.
8. The existence of a mutual benefit fund for supporting those who are in a difficult social
situation.
9. The creation of a wireless Internet.
10. The foundation of a public University.
11. The enhancement of infrastructures of fishery.
12. The periodic publication of a newspaper which will be the voice of all citizens.

· The annual meeting of young people who come from Apokorona
· The foundation of stockbreeding-agricultural secondary school [ÉÅÊ] of Apokorona
· The establishing of the award of prizes for young people concerning their school and sports
progress
· The creation of a 'bank of exchange services'
· The feast of 'tavlas' [every year in a different village]
· The annual festival of 'Madinathas' [ small Cretan songs]
· The establishing of stockbreeding competitions of Apokorona
· The foundation of athletic institution with the title 'Competitions of the mountainous area'

Our promise is to organize our fight, our efforts so as to improve citizens 'daily life, to
get programs, studies and finally to accomplish the development of Apokorona.

Our promise is that the past is our counselor. The present time is not an occasional
action but constant efforts, a continual fight.
