Triangle Compute
You can use this command to create a new triangle file based on structural geometry data.
To run this command:Triangle > Compute or...
On the Triangle toolbar, click .

Triangula on Data
Use all structure data - The triangles are computed from all the structure data that is plo ed in Graphics, regardless of
whether its Visibility is set to On or Off.
Pick structure data - This op on enables you to use the Pick bu on to select structural data already displayed in Graphics.
Triangles are computed only from the selected data.
Pick - A er clicking Pick select the data in Graphics from which to create triangles. then right-click (or press ESC) and click
Ok.
Triangle Origin
Select the Compute origin from data box to create the triangle based on the selected data in the geometry file.
Clear the Compute origin from data box to specify the X and Y Origin and Extent values.
You can op onally specify a Reference Triangle.

Triangula on Parameters
The following explains the Triangula on Parameters:
Interpola on - Straightis the minimum distance that Minex will use to interpolate addi onal points along a
string.
Interpola on - Curves is the minimum distance that Minex will use to interpolate addi onal points along a
curve, as specified by a center point and radius.
The Select Color bu on allows you to change the surface color.
Tip: If you want to use only survey points, ensure the Specify Interpola on box is cleared.
Limit Triangle
You can specify that a boundary be used by selec ng the Clip on Boundary box. When you choose this op on, you can use
the adjacent Pick bu on to select the boundary string in Graphics.
Compute from Reference Plane
Use Reference Plane - With this op on selected, Minex uses the plane you specify as the reference plane when it creates
the triangles. This is useful when there are any 'overhangs' in the surface you want to triangulate. If you do not specify a
reference plane, Minex uses a horizontal plane, and an overhang would cause overlapping triangles - a data structure which
is not permi ed in Minex. However, by specifying a reference plane that is lted so that the surface of interest has no
overhangs rela ve to the lted plane, you can successfully create a triangle file of the overhanging structure.
Triangle Display
Display Computed Triangles - Select this op on to see the triangle file in Graphics before the prompt to save the triangle file
is displayed.
Solid and Sides - Displays the triangle file as a solid or as triangle sides.
