The article, "GENDER EQUALITY IN EDUCATION AND ECONOMIC GROWTH IN

SELECTED SOUTHERN AFRICAN COUNTRIES" was published in April 2015 by Alexandra

Elsa Licumbas, Janet Dzator, and Xiaohe James, Zhang. The Journal is PROQUEST, and the

DOI is 1747257962. In South Africa, promoting gender equality and female empowerment is

one of the most important goals. Gender equality in education on economic growth, they will

provide testing to change there ways. Reducing gender inequality in education will not only

promote growth but also help to advance other valuable development goals. To help the equality

and the growth the use of technology will not help, they created the Protocol on Gender and

Development. This article aligns with Cultural and Equity issues because South Africans believe

that technology will divide their society. I don't believe there is a solution to this issue because

they will need to solve their gender-based problems first.

The article, "Online IS Education for the 21st Century" was published in Summer 2014

by Lafayette West. The Journal is PROQUEST, and the DOI is 1664483812. Online teacher and

learning are very common in education, especially in higher educational institutions. But as the

courses start to grow more and more institutions have been worried about the quality of the

classes. Some educators may find it difficult to design, teach, and assess an online course and

would need training. Also with online courses, there wouldn't be student-instructor interaction or

peer interactions face to face. There are many arguments and research that shows that online

learning and participation is not sufficient to achieve the deep and meaningful learning. There

are many positives and negatives to online learning. This is an issue of Educational Issues
because not all students have the skills needed to use online learning. This issue can be solved if

the teacher knew how to interact with the students correctly.

The article, "PROTECTION OF COMPUTER LABORATORIES IN EDUCATIONAL

INSTITUTIONS" was published in June 2016 by László Göcs, Csaba Zsolt Johanyak, and

Andras Peter Agg. The Journal is PROQUEST, and the DOI is 1786231146. In educational

institutions, there are several technologies and methods for security designs. It is essential that

the operating systems of workstations are protected. There must be firewalls that protect the

software, and this will control and limit the communication and network usage. Schools must

protect what can go in and out of the computers for children safety. The existence of a firewall in

case of a school network is an essential requirement from a security point of view. This is a

Legal and Ethical issue because educators need to make sure that the technology is being used

appropriately and safely. The solution has already been solved for this issue; the firewalls will

protect the incoming and outgoing traffic by filtering the data and blocking the data that does not

meet the security criteria.

The article, "Social Media in Higher Education" was published in 2016 by Heather

Rowan, Ana Martinex, Kevin Gin, Bryan Blakeley, Adam Gismondi, Jonathan Lewis, Adam

McCready, Daniel Zepp, and Sarah Knight. The Journal is EBSCOhost, and the DOI is

10.1002/aehe.20103. The use of social media in the higher education can help enhance

communication and information between students. The only issue with social media is one has to

make sure it isn't being overused in the classroom setting. This article discussed how even

though it may sometimes be overused, the positives benefits the negatives. Education can be

great tools with the help of social media. For example, research and scholarships are tools that

can be used and found from social media. Social media is also a computer-mediated
communication tool which helps students in the classroom and at homes. This is a Social issue

because the social media usage can disrupt students with learning but it can also encourage and

motivate students as well. It is crucial that students understand that not everything is private and

how to use social media appropriately. The solution to this issue is to not use social media at all

in classrooms, but this will take a toll on the students because revolve around social media.
