Letter From The Editor

Everyone experience sadness, loneliness, and being homesick once in a

while. The story of Odysseus by Homer focuses on these same emotional
traits that we experience in our daily lives. Knowing how Odysseus felt,
his story became relevant to my life. “Never give up because eventually
you would be satisfied” is one of the things I realized when I read this
publication. I like the story and advice featured in pages 14 to 15 because
I found it witty, yet interesting!s

Ω Your Questions Answered

Advise From The Heart

Greetings!
Recently, I heard rumors that the kinsmen of the suitors have been forming meetings on how to avenge the death of the suitors. I
believe they are planning to kill Odysseus. No one is trying to stop them, I don't know why. Do you think that they even have a
reason to try to kill Odysseus? Do you think they should push through with this plan? Thank you!
-Anonymous

Dear Anonymous,

Although I would very much like to deny these rumors, I have to agree that these kinsmen of those worthless suitors are apparently plotting some
revenge scheme against our godlike Odysseus. I believe they won't stop at anything till they avenge the deaths of their beloved masters, though I
have the utmost confidence that our Odysseus will certainly put an end to their lives. Either by an arrow shot to their chest, but pretty near their
nipples or may he pray that Zeus will strike the fruit of their loins with lightning. If you suitors are reading this then beware, if you want your
nipples or your loins safe, I encourage you not to even try the impossible.
-Executive Editor

Good day!

Ever since my beloved Penelope rejected me, I have been feeling so demoralized. How could she do such a thing? I am fearless, handsome, strong
and intelligent, well-loved by all. I just don't understand! Why would she choose to wait for her foolish husband Odysseus over marrying a finer,
nobler gentleman like me?
-Antinous

Dear, Antinous

Greetings to you my friend, love is very cruel. It is like having your swines taken away from you as you watch them get slaughtered. I believe
Penelope opted to wait for Odysseus because she loves him, simple as that. She isn't the kind of woman that just walks away when her husband's
state becomes uncertain. Though I do bring you good news. One that will literally blow your mind. There is this place, the land of Circe and for ten
years now I have been enjoying the services she has provided me. It never gets old and if I were you I'd make my way to her land right this
instance. If you choose not to heed my advice, I foresee death smiling upon you if you keep waiting.
-Executive Director
Dear Sir,
I have been reading your magazine ever since it made its debut three years ago. Until now my husband has not yet arrived. The suitors are gaining
momentum inside my palace. Should I keep waiting for Odysseus to return? Or is he really dead? If he is, who of the suitors do you think I should
marry? Or not marry at all? If I do marry, my next husband might abuse his power! Save me!
-Penelope

Dear Penelope
Why thank you! Three years? That is a pretty long period of time. Anyway, by the gods! what kind of mess have you gotten into, woman? Do not
lose hope in yourself. I have full trust in Odysseus that he will return and one by one he will slit the throats, pierce the hearts, and even strike the
loins of these suitors that have been troubling your life. Stay steadfast woman, Odysseus is still alive. It is not yet his time to leave this dreaded
world of ours. Remarry? What an absurd thing to even think of. Although, there is a possibility that he may not return and if that is the case then I,
yes I, would be the best suitable replacement for Odysseus. Haha!

-Executive Editor

Dear Readers,
Greetings! First and foremost, thank you for all the letters you wrote to me! I know you sent them waiting for an answer, but only a few could fit in
this magazine. For those whose letters weren’t featured, I will write back to you as soon as possible. If anyone of you would want to write to me,
feel free to do so. Keep reading our magazine!!! Thanks!

Single Couples By Glendon Ng

Some time ago I was venturing around the beautiful city of Ithaca feasting on unlimited meat and
wine. While roaming around I happened to stumble upon an old man with a ridiculously looking
mustache, which was complimented by a ridiculously looking beard. For confidentiality, the name
of this man will not be mentioned nor will he be called anonymous. Rather, let us call him Mo
Levi. Mo Levi was a very strange man, oh and did I mention he was old? Anyway, Mo Levi was
unlike any other person I had met in my life. He was great, wise, had the strength of two and a
half men, and only wore a loincloth, which was actually not a proper sight for a man of my stature
to see. Simply put, it was disturbing. He told me how he arrived here and asked me what...
... land he was in now as he was exiled from his nation because of improper public image. I answered him that he was
in the beautiful city of Ithaca, ruled by the powerful Odysseus. He then
asked me to tell him of the tales of events that occurred here. By the gods I
was delighted to the hearing of this question. I then shared with him the
recent happening in Ithaca which was the slaughtering of the suitors by the
hands of Odysseus.

It was an ordinary day for everybody. The sun was shining, birds
were singing, people were doing their everyday routines, but it wasn't so
ordinary in the house of Odysseus. Little did people know that a massacre
was happening right in the palace of Odysseus. The suitors that had been
feasting on the food of Odysseus were one by one silenced by the hands of
Odysseus. They were foolish enough to even think they could match the
power of Odysseus and their foolishness brought an end to their lives. It was believed that throughout the battle, it
was gray-eyed goddess Athene that intervened with the actions of the suitors which gave an advantage to Odysseus.
Oh how great it would be to have a goddess watch over you, protecting
you and the ones dear to you. It was by this event that peace was restored
in the house of Odysseus. This was to the delight of Penelope who had
been waiting too long for Odysseus to return to her. For many years she
had suffered the grief of having to one day admit that her dear husband
would never return to her and that she would have to marry one of her
suitors and leave her son Telemachos to take care of himself. But she
wouldn't have to do this anymore as she has her husband back

There are many lessons that can be learned from this and I
believe one of the most important one is that wearing just a piece of
loincloth as clothing is a bad idea. Not only is it utterly disturbing, it will
certainly get you attention and if men are attracted to you then I'd hate to be in your position. But the real lesson is,
just get a girl that's 100% single and you better make sure its 100%. Even a
99% chance she's single could get you killed.
