1.0 Description

EPS will manufacture a total of 6 prototypes divided as follows:

Prototype

- 2 prototype FPT15651/32-32/22-11

- 2 prototype FPT15641/22-20/16-8 F4

- 2 prototype FPT15636/18-16/12-7

1.1 Prototype Test of Bearings

The Prototype Bearing will be verified according to the Prototype Testing program which consists of 12
consecutive tests.

The vertical loads applied at each test for each type of bearing are specified in the table below.

Displacements and cycles are similar for all bearing type, except for the test PT-A1 which has a different
displacement for Prototype FPT15636/18-16/12-7. For further detail see table below.

2.0 Prototype tests performed during the day

Today 1 prototype was tested.

During the development of the tests, the bearing was accidentally tested to failure. Namely, when
performing the Seismic Performance test (PT-E1) a miscommunication with the cylinders that control
horizontal movement of the test machine caused the bearing to be tested beyond its displacement
capacity.
As a result, the safety ring that is installed in the Main Concave Plates failed as it is seen in image 1.
The test had to be redone.
Test PT-E1 and the remaining tests in this prototype were carried out regardless of this issue.
The failure of the ring seemed to have no effect in the results since maximum displacement of the
remaining test was 381 mm in both directions (PT-F1 and PT-F2), which does not provoke the slider to
be in contact with the safety ring.
