Cool Takes on Hot
Games!
Are The Console Wars Truly Still Ongoing?
If you were a kid in the 90’s, or even if you had older siblings who grew up
during that “golden era” of video games, you likely remember the brutal con-
sole wars between Nintendo and Sega, with both companies genuinely trying
to put eachother out of business, while also delivering the best games possi-
ble. Nowadays, even though there are now three major consoles for gamers
to choose from, the console wars seemed to have died out. This could be due
to a number of factors, but perhaps most salient is the fact that major titles
are often not exclusive to any one console, and they tend to appeal to older
audiences: teens and adults who are more likely to have the ability to buy Inside this issue

There’s a free demo of Star Allies

game a try. As you might be able to

Sea Of Thieves Preview

Release: March 20th on Xbox One, $59.99 or free with Xbox Game Pass sub-
scription.
It’s a bit tricky to accurately preview this game, as I did not receive access to
the closed beta, and even if I had, the developers are doing everything in
their power to make absolutely sure no information about the game gets out
ahead of the release date. This could mean one of two things:
1. The game is incredible, and they’re simply preventing spoilers
2. The game is a bust, but they’re hoping the allure of the game being the
first ever console based pirate MMORPG will be enough to get major
sales on release date.

cost you 50 dollars plus tax. My calculator says that’s a
bit over $2.50 a minute, depending on what your sales
tax is. I’ll give it a 1… and a 2.
