Why did you choose your proposed course and institution*?

I propose to study master in sustainability with leadership for sustainable development
specialisation. Sustainability is a long-term development concept, prepared to meet present needs
while preserving nature in which welfare of current and future generations rely on. For me, it is
important since I want to help preserving earth and creating bigger impact.
My interest in this initiatives has been starting since I witness many fields in my village was being
turned into housing. Yet, many of the houses are left empty. The intent might be for future
investment. If everyone, for capital gain, invests on property but leaves only little ground, we would
suffer the nature that serves basic human needs. It has to be a sustainable investment to connect
these aspects.
It was my experience as volunteer for Danish International Development Agency program,
involvement in forestry financing research at Ministry of Finance and working for several grants audit
for WWF Indonesia projects that blew my mind. Many passionate individuals are working on greener
living projects, such as green building, green economy and green investment. I could see that the
solutions are actually existent; we have resources, knowledge and technology to support. However,
vested interests have influenced the decision making process at many levels.
My current experiences and awareness are just beginning to have role and mark in this initiative. I
need to equip myself with relevant knowledge, exercises and networking, also to improve my
leadership skills.
I did some research looking for master in sustainability. I choose Monash University because of its
interdisciplinary focus and its choice of specialisation. The course also offers internship program,
which is a solid practical way to gain the skills. Additionally, it ßis the host university for Sustainable
Development Solutions Networks for Asia-Pacific and Australia region with sustainability research
center, Monash Sustainable Development Institute. I believe, with this compact support, I could
prepare myself to have role in leading the change for sustainable development in my home country.

have a high interest in developing capabilities essential to the theories and difficulties of language
curriculum design, assessment, and evaluation, and the further developing of English teaching
method related to issues of diversities such as culture, mother tongue, and communicative
competence in order to result the most suitable method fitting the learners need and background. I
believe that this master’s program can prepare me to assume a specialty in the field of English
teaching especially about theoretical approaches, language analysis, curriculum design, and
intercultural communication in reaching the language learning goal in variety of contexts.
My bachelor study on English Teacher Training and Education has prepared me with a strong
grounding in English and theoretical aspects of teaching which can contribute in developing my self
swiftly to reach my future goal in the master’s program. I have learned about Study and Learning,
Professions of Education, Teaching English as a Foreign Language I and II, Curriculum and Material
Development, and Teaching Practice in my bachelor study, of which I got the highest marks.
Furthermore, I have also written scientific papers and articles on education since I was an
undergraduate student. My paper on education was awarded as the runner up in “Sayembara Ide
(Idea Competition)”at provincial level. My articles have also been published in a bilingual newspaper.
Then, I completed my study by receiving the highest mark in the study program for my final-year
undergraduate thesis on English education. Such experiences surely link one another, of which I
consciously learn that English teaching should be dominated by advanced concepts and assisted by
effective teaching strategies. For this reason, I have totally provided my self to perform well in my
future study.
I have done some research on universities in Australia that offer a master’s program in TESOL. Some
of the universities provide the program with ….. , while others put more emphasis on …. As one of my

How will the proposed study contribute to your career*?

I believe, a master in sustainability can grant me the chance of working in a more meaningful and
relevant field. I will invest my competences of financial accounting and sustainability in greener
actions. By maximising my leadership and networking skills, becoming professional consultant to
help communities managing business to be economically and environmentally sustainable and
designing corporate social and environmental responsibility is what I want to do to contribute to
achieve the sustainable development goals, especially in my home country.
It was my involvement in the audit of WWF Indonesia and EU project in Timor Leste that got me up.
People I met here were resiliently working for preserving planet and communities through research,
consultancy, program implementation and evaluation. It brought meaningful impression seeing they
make money but in the same time the output of they work could also benefit people and planet.
Therefore, after finishing my study in sustainability from UK, firstly I would like to work as consultant
specialising in sustainability and climate change. By joining reputable consulting firm which
developing service in this sector, I could be involved in the work of measuring social, environmental,
fiscal, and economic impact of the companies’ business activities or providing consultancy in
corporate social and environmental responsibility strategy. This work could wisely exercise and
develop knowledge and experiences I got during my study in the UK and could broaden my networks
as well. Additionally, given my networking, I would also like to team up with program development in
NGO for responsibly managing grants over maximisation program implementation.
My destination would be developing my own foundation caring on sustainable development. Under
this foundation, I want to build informal school for kids and youth as supplement to study business
with greener actions, which is business with triple bottom line philosophy; profit, people and planet.
Moreover, I want this foundation to also accommodate ideas and action plans of youth and other
green fighters who have the same concern on sustainability and business. Together with them, I am
willing to keenly design and develop program on sustainability study for society so that it could be
study centre for sustainability research in Indonesia. I believe by keep polishing my knowledge,
experiences, spirit, networking and leadership skills into solid, this intention and dream are possible
and achievable.

1. Please describe the efforts you have undertaken so far to obtain information on your study
options in Australia?

aplikasinya.
• Jelaskan apa saja yang sudah dilakukan dalam memahami dan memilih jurusan dan universitas di
Australia. Ini akan terkiat dnegan pertanyaan selanjutnya.

menyelesaikan sebuah permasalahan.
• Saya mengatakan harus pandai melihat, karena tidak sedikit yang kebingungan merasa tidak
terlalu banyak berbuat sesuatu.
• Ambil satu permasalahan yang selalu menjadi concern anda, kemudian coba pikirkan apa yang
sudah anda lakukan dalam membantu menyelesaikan permasalahan tersebut.
• Ingat, anda harus menjelaskan pengalaman ini ddengan rinci, karena bagian ini penting untuk
