Setting
Animal Zoo is a world-renowned zoo located in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Animal Zoo has the reputation of hiring criminals and mentally unstable
employees to get cheaper labor. On October 20th, 2016, at 6:23 AM, an
employee of Animal Zoo reported to the police that a mauled dead body
was found in the zoo’s open plains. Other employees were worried that a
bear somehow snuck into the cage if it was not for one obvious detail: a
bloodstained spear was found near the body.

Kennedy Lur
Background: Kennedy Lur was a close friend of the victim, Vincent Tim.
Kennedy first joined Animal Zoo as a high school dropout trying to make
enough money to survive. His schizophrenia had scared his parents
enough that they kicked him out of the house for him to survive by
himself. At first, the zoo paid him very badly because of his schizophrenia.
However, as he continued working at Animal Zoo, he moved up to become
a day-time manager of the section Vincent worked at. When Vincent
joined Animal Zoo, they became quick friends. There has never seem to
have been any reason for Kennedy to want to kill Vincent. Kennedy had a
strong sense of justice and was always known as a fair manager.
Physical Traits: Kennedy is a 30-year-old man. He is a tall man with a
height of 6 feet and 1 inch. He is right-handed. His shoe size is a size 11
male. His work at Animal Zoo and morning workouts has turned Kennedy
into a toned man. Kennedy has jet-black hair.
Alibi: Kennedy told the police that between 8PM and 10PM, he was at a bar
near Animal Zoo with a couple other co-workers. Because he has the
day-shift, he did not have to be at work until the late morning. The
barkeeper working at the bar does not remember seeing Kennedy after
9PM. The co-workers were too drunk to remember if Kennedy was at the
bar during the entire two hours, but they do distinctly remember that
Kennedy did not drive home with them.

Thomas Legge
Background: Thomas Legge is a nighttime co-worker of Vincent Tim and
long-time employee of Animal Zoo. Thomas has always been paid lower
than he should because of his ADHD. From the first day Vincent arrived at
Animal Zoo, Thomas Legge has been known to despise him. Being a
jealous man, Thomas did not take well that a new employee was doing the
work that Thomas longed to do for years. If Vincent was out of the way,
Thomas could finally get the promotion he always sought. Thomas is
known for being a coward.
Physical Traits: Thomas is 37 years old. He is short with a height of 5 feet 8
inches. He is right-handed. His shoe size is a size 10 male. Thomas can
only be described as plump and out of shape. He has brown hair, but his
hair is dyed black.
Alibi: Thomas has no alibi for the crime. He tells police that he was
working with Vincent when Vincent decided to do a rudimentary check of
the open plains. The only person who could vouch for Thomas’s alibi is
Vincent, but Vincent is currently unavailable for a testimony.

#FFE-1: Spear
An Animal Zoo spear was found lying next to the body of the victim. The
speartip matched the wound on the victim’s stomach; the spear was the
weapon used to kill the victim. The spear was one of many accessible by
any Animal Zoo workers to feed or keep in check the more dangerous
animals. This turns any Animal Zoo employee working at the time of the
murder into a suspect. Crime Scene Investigators found a latent plain arch
fingerprint ridge pattern on the shaft of the spear. The pattern did not
match with any of the victim’s fingerprints. Spear handles get wiped
regularly, so the fingerprint was very recent.
#FFE-2: Bloody Footprints
A set of bloody footprints was found leading away of the murder scene.
The footprints continued for about five hundred feet until it reached the
parking lot of Animal Zoo. The footprints abruptly stopped inside the
parking lot, indicating the use of a vehicle to get away. The size of the
footprint was about a size 11 male. This narrows down the suspects to a
male with a height of about 6 feet.
#FFE-3: Spear Wound
The spear wound to the victim’s stomach was the cause of death. The
point of entry was the stomach; this indicates that the victim recognized
the killer. The pathologists, using body temperature, found that the time
of death was between 9PM and 10PM at the location of the body. The 2mm
blood spatter from near the spear wound shows that the body was not
moved and occurred directly in the open plains.
#FFE-4: Bite Marks
During the killer and the victim’s struggle, the killer bit the victim in the
hand. The killer’s DNA was able to be extracted from the bite marks.
#FFE-5: Ripped Head
After the victim died, the killer ripped its head by hand and moved it away
from the body. Criminologists gained a lot of information from the ripped
head of the victim. The ripped head indicates that this killer
spontaneously decided to kill the victim. In addition, the killer most likely
had some sort of mental disease. Whoever the killer was, they did not plan
this murder in advance. Something forced them to suddenly want to kill
the victim. Criminologist also deducted that the ripped head indicates that
the killer was a strong, young man.
#FFE-6: Identification Card
The identification card identified the victim as a 32-year-old man
named Vincent Iphigenia Tim. Vincent is six feet tall with brown
hair and blue eyes. Vincent worked at Animal Zoo as a nighttime
caretaker for the animals in the open plains, such as the rare
buffaloes, after getting a degree in zoology at his local college.
Although Vincent was suspected of killing his first wife, he was
never tried. Vincent worked extremely hard at the zoo as a way to
try to make-up for his mistakes. Vincent was close friends with a
co-worker named Kennedy Lur. Vincent was a well-liked and
hard-working employee.
#FFE-7: Bloodstain
A bloodstain from a source other than the killer was found at the crime
scene. A blood typing test found that the blood was O+. The same blood
was also found on the victim’s fingertips. The victim most likely scratched
the killer during their struggle.
#FFE-8: Fingerprint
Investigators found a second latent fingerprint at the hem of the pants
where the leg was forcefully ripped off of the victim. The fingerprint was
an ulnar loop fingerprint.
#FFE-9: Hair
Black hairs were found at the scene of the crime. The hair seemed to have
been forcefully pulled off, indicating a struggle between the victim and the
killer. The hair contained an imbricate scale cuticle and a continuous
medulla. The hair was not dyed; it is naturally black.
Reconstruction
A torn up diary was found in the garbage near Animal Zoo. Forensic scientists
reconstructed the diary and found an interesting last page.
I woke up in my bed, covered in blood. I can barely remember what
happened...what I did. Voices in my head urging me to kill my friend. He
had killed someone, it was only fair. I should control the voices, but the
alcohol persuaded me. Justice needed to happen. Why did I have to kill my
friend. Don’t force me to kill my friend. Driving to Animal Zoo. Opening
the open plains with my manager key. Grabbing a spear. Finding Vincent
on his usual walk around the plains. His surprised face as he sees me. The
resistance of his body as I thrust the spear in his stomach. Biting his hand.
His screams of pain. His hand scratching my cheek. His body falling down
to the floor. Dropping the spear. Voices telling me to rip his body apart.
Walking to my car. Driving home. Why did I have to kill my friend. Justice
needed to happen.
