If you could go back to some time and place in the past, when and where
would you go? Why?

If I were the opportunity to go back to a specific time and place in the past, I
would go back to old Egypt. During the construction of the pyramids, the
Egyptians were in the process of developing cultural, social, and scientific
pursuits which still have a significant impact on the world today.

I have chosen this theme because of the interesting evolution and history of this
civilization, the unmistakable architecture and the mysteries that still abound
around of their pyramids. Where did the technology come from? How could they
move the stones before the invention of the wheel? Why did they build the
pyramids?

The old Egyptians had strong beliefs in life after death and to be prepared for it
built incredible tombs, with all comforts to ensure that in his next life nothing is
missing them. In addition, the Egyptian civilization was one of the most enduring
cultures of all time, however, its people wanted more than that, they wanted to
live forever.

The pyramids are the symbol more recognized in the world of the glory that was
old Egypt, they are also, of all the remains that Egyptians have left us, the
monuments most beautiful and emblematic of this civilization, in particular, the
three great pyramids Giza, Khafre and Menkaure, whose construction goes
back, for the great majority of scholars, to the period called the old Kingdom of
Egypt.

LETTER OF REGRET

If I had gone to classes, I would have no problem solving the proposed

exercises. In addition, I would have the facility to learn the new topic. However, I
will try to educate myself to solve the problems and get good grades in future
tests.

When I missed classes to fall asleep, I regretted it and I felt very bad, because I
did not learn enough to pass the level. Also, I had to ask my friends for help to
understand the class, but that was something that helped me to understand and
socialize with all my classmates.

After this experience, I should not miss classes and I would have to attend
tutorials to improve my grades.

them and replace them with modern buildings?

In my opinion, cities should try to preserve their old, historic buildings.

I think we should preserve these old historic buildings, because every old
building represents an important part of history. In addition, they can reflect
contemporary culture, custom and lifestyle.

For example, the historic center of Quito for its beautiful architecture.

I think that if we knock down these valuable buildings, we will destroy an

important piece of history. Also, when we visited old sites, it seemed that we
were going back to that moment in history. In addition, some old buildings have
deteriorated, but if we can restore them, they could begin to attract visitors to
the city.
