Rationale
The purpose of this workshop is to provide attendees with information about digital
resources that can be used to practice research skills with elementary aged students. This
workshop is necessary because research can be overwhelming, for both teachers and
students. It is important to help students feel comfortable with the research process early
on. Laying these positive building blocks will transfer to their research skills throughout
the rest of their school career. My goal is that participants take away a variety of grade
and age level appropriate resources that can be implemented within their research units.

Presentation
Choice of Topic
This topic is relevant to the work of librarians and a good choice to share with others. A
large part of what the library does is provide access to information materials. Knowing
about relevant, easy to use, reliable, and credible sources makes providing access easier.
It also helps students and teacher master Ohio’s Learning Standards for Technology and
Resource
The one resource I would say helped me the most was INFOhio. A majority of the
resources I share in this presentation can be accessed from the INFOhio website. This
makes it easy to share with others. Overall, this digital resource is easy to navigate and is
user friendly. I would say it is a need to know resource for librarians in the beginning of
their careers.
