1. Course Description:
Description of the course (Relationships, Catering, Health and Wellness, Teen
Choices/Challenges, Fashion/Interior Design, Prostart, Teacher Cadet, etc.)
2. Course Objective:
Learning outcomes of the course. What students will be able to do upon
completion of the course.
3. Required Materials:
i. One subject college ruled notebook or steno pad notebook
ii. Pens/pencils
iii. Additional materials if not provided (depending on the course): aprons,
hair ties, etc.
4. Expectations:
I have one rule in this classroom: feel free to do anything as long as it does not
cause a problem for you or anyone else.
5. Attendance Policy:
It is your responsibility to find out what you missed and what you need to make
up:
Check the absent student binder
Ask peers
If you are still unsure ask me – do not ask me first!
Absences unexcused or not – do not get you out of deadlines!
Homework/projects/etc. are still due on the same day/time even if you are
absent; unless you have spoken with me beforehand and we have decided
otherwise.
Unexcused absences:
Students absent during exam/quizzes will NOT be allowed to
make them up
Students absent during labs must complete a related activity to
make them up and have signed documentation: catering events,
community service, school participation, assigned essays/other
assignments, etc. Activities that will be suitable replacements will
be up to the discretion of and must be approved by me.
o Make-up labs must be completed the end of the unit, if
not, student will receive a zero.
Excused absences:

complete them.

6. Grading:
Grade Breakdown is as follows:
100% - 90% = A
89% - 80% = B
79% - 70% = C
69% - 60% = D
59% or below = F
Late work
Late work will be accepted until the end of the unit with a 10%-
point deduction
o Assignments are considered late if:
They are not handed in at the designated time (ex:
if I ask you to pass your assignment forward or
have them out on your desk so I can collect them)
They are not in the turn in bin at the designated
time (ex: if I ask you to turn in your work before
you leave)
They are not included in your interactive notebook
at the designated time (ex: if I ask you to open your
notebooks to a specific page so I can grade them)
o Assignments will be marked late if not turned in at the
designated time and will be graded accordingly.
Late work after the end of the unit will not be accepted
