‘EATING HABITS IN PERÚ AND OTHER COUNTRIES’

Peru is one of the countries with a great and diverse gastronomy (Gastronomy, is
the study of the relationship between food and culture, art of preparing and
serving rich or delicate and appetizing food, a style of cooking from particular
region and the science of good eating) know around the world. Peru is a country
with many food habits, many good and others bad.

I'll start talking about some of them:

 Mealtimes traditionally
Three or four main mealtimes traditionally exist in Peru: Breaksfast, lunch,
lonche and dinner. In breaksfast is more comun eat and drink bread, eggs,
quinoa, coffe, milk, yogurt, cheese, etc. In Lunch It would be something like
ceviche, tacu tacu, soup, lomo saltado, aji de gallina, or some sort of stew.
Protein or legumes with soup and a side dish. Dinner is usually lighter, lunch
heated or nothing.
 Raice
Almost the majority of Peruvian food is accompanied with rice. Which in many
quantities can be bad for a balanced diet.

 Fast food or food ‘on the go’


39.18% of Peruvians tend to eat on the streets several times a week, revealed the
study "Truth about street" conducted by McCann Worldgroup. This survey was
carried out to 12,000 people in 25 cities in 18 Latin American countries on their
eating habits and consumption expenses on the street. Peruvians are taking
custom to eat fast food like pizza, chaufa, broaster, French fries, burgers, etc. The
most common stews sold by the popular trucks in Lima are salchipapas, ceviche,
anticuchos, sandwiches and chicken broaster, among others.

 Poor diet and the overweight


According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Peru has high rates of
obesity: 58% of Peruvians are overweight and 21% suffer from obesity. Poor
diet and sedentary lifestyle are the main causes of obesity. For the WHO in
Peru, the diet is based on flour and carbohydrates.

 Consume fruit and vegetables


The average Peruvian prefers to consume junk food than fruits and oily food
than vegetables. The Peruvian only consumes 4 days of fruit and 3 of
vegetables a week when consumption should be daily.

 Eat in family
One of the most important and significant food habits is that the family eat
together this make getting close at each others.

 A lot consume of milk


The Peruvian usually consumes many amounts of milk which is good for
bones and teeth.

ARGENTINA

Eating habits:

The main food in Argentina is ‘El asado’ it’s beef or lamb grilled or roast,
empanada criolla, tortas fritas, pastafrola, milanesa napolitana, choripan, locro,
sorentinos.

Mate is the most consumed infusion in Argentina.


 More than half of the daily food of Argentines focuses on wheat-based
foods (bread, pastas, cookies, pizzas, empanadas) with sugar (soft drinks,
juices, sweets, snacks, etc.) and red meats.
 Argentines have a poor consumption of fish.
 In Latinoamerica, Argentina is the countrie with more consume of red
wine.
