However, this podcast is not about Lindsey but about a young soldier name Jonathan who died in
December of 2009 while serving in the marines. Jonathan was in Afghanistan where he received fatal RY
‘wounds. The medics did their best to try and save this young man but his injuries were to great. Lindsey.)
‘Aderio was embedded with the medics when they received an Alpha call meaning it was a top priority life
or death situation. Aderio had permission to take pictures during a medical emergency should she be
allowed to publish these photos of a dying soldier? Jonathans family said that they did not want all of
these photos of their one’s last moments. And ultimately should war be published. Several soldiers
thought that war should be documented as Aderio found out while photographing the final moments of
young Jonathans life, When an officer told her to stop photographing she simply said I have permission
and other soldiers in the room said no this needs to be documented, Aderio continued taking photographs.
‘The military ban on photographs during war has ended and documentation should be allowed in a
‘Afghanistan and other war zones. The public deserves to know what is going on with our military. 8 5

‘Vietnam didn’t have this censoring. There was no one who had to sign in order for a journalist to publish wr Kk
photos of and injured or dying soldier. Why should it be any different in the war in Afghanistan? This is \
not the case however, Lindsey Aderio did have to ask permission from Jonathans next of kin who NO &

eventually said no to the publishing of the graphic photos. Jonathans father didn’t want his daughters to
come across these photos. The family was able to see the horrific injuries that lead to this soldier's death,Pec we Sf ostyr
