The first business I would open will be in the country of Cameroon. Cameroon is located in Central
Africa. With the biggest city being Doula.

Cameroon:
~ The most popular languages Cameroons speak are:

French and English

~ The religion with the Cameroon population is split with:

Christianity and Islam

~The climate and Cameroon varies but is typically semi-arid meaning dry and hot in the North. However,
Doula is typically warm and humid.

~Cameroons business practices are much different from business practices in North America. Beginning
with how you promote your business. When presenting a business cards they are typically given without
a formal ritual. But you must always present your card with both hands or your right hand only. Lastly,
studying your card prepares you for the questions people will ask when it comes to the card designs.

~Business meetings are not very secretive in the country of Cameroon neither. People will often times
interrupt your meeting. However, this interruption is not done out of disrespect. Adding to the
conversation will typically be an agenda, this agenda hold the purpose of conversation starters. Business
communication is very formal and is based on protocol and etiquette. It is considered rude to turn your
back on a senior even if you are greeting someone else.

~The second business I would open will be in Australia. Australia does not have an official language but
the national language is English. The largest city is Sydney.

Australia:
~Australians don't need to build long relationships with you before doing business with you.

~The major religion within Australia is Christianity

~Australians appreciate modesty, applying aggressive sales techniques is not key. Try to be factual and
friendly, but you should try to avoid self-importance.

~If you do happen to impress an Australian, they will not make it obvious.

~If you find yourself challenged to a controversial discussion during a meeting, it is nothing personal.
Australians find debates entertaining and will sometimes initiate them by making provocative
statements.

~Australian business culture is collaborative so decision making tends to be slow.

The third business I will like to open will be in the country of Dubai. The capital of Dubai is Abu Dhabi.

Dubai:
~Dubai is part of the United Arab Emirates

~ The most popular language is Dubai:

Arabic and English

Religion:

The official religion of the UAE and Dubai is Islam.

Muslim Law:

It is important for foreigners to know that proselytizing in the UAE is illegal and severely punished.
Punishment can consist of imprisonment or deportation, or even beheading. And homosexual relations,
sexuality before marriage, eating during Ramadan and public demonstration of affection are also
punished.

Business etiquette:

Working days are generally from Sunday to Thursday and many companies are open six days a week and
close every Friday. Working hours are 8am to 1pm, and 4pm to 7pm. Long breaks between working
hours are common practices due to the heat during the middle of the day. Dubai professionals typically
work 2 hours less during Ramadan.

Dubai is the most liberal of all the emirates, however a modest dress code is expected by everyone. The
dress code for businessmen should be regular business suits or formal office clothes. The dress code for
businesswomen makes them stay modest at all times in business environments. Skirts and low necklines
should be avoided. Women should also be well covered in rural areas of Dubai.

In Dubai, minimalist and white designs are most important when it comes to business cards. Business
card should have two sides, one in your own language, and one in Arabic. This is considered a sign of
politeness and respect. Business cards should be given at the beginning of the meeting.

The fourth business I would open will be in the country of Spain.

Spain:
~ Spain is located in Europe
~Climate:

Predominately Mediterranean, winters are mild and summers are hot in the coastal regions, with high
rainfall in the Cantabrian area.

~Major religions in Spain:

Catholic

Spain is a very diverse country and each region has its own unique character and distinctive
atmosphere.

Spanish do not put too much emphasis on work, they prefer to focus on their leisure times and live each
day to the fullest.

The most significant environmental issues in Spain includes air and water pollution. The Government
continues to address these issues for many years and the situation is gradually improving.

Spanish owners, managers and employees consider that it is very important to comply with Human
Rights laws in their supply chain.

In Spain, business people do not usually give gifts to each other. However, gifts are sometimes offered
after a successful negotiation or to say thank you for a favor.

Spanish people believe personal presentation is very important and will perceive your appearance as an
indication of your professional achievement and will also relate this to your social standing. In addition
to that designer clothes are highly recommended and elegant accessories are key for both men and
women.

The fifth business I will open will be in the country of China. The capital of China is Beijing.

China:
China is located in the continent of Asia.
~Climate:
In the northeast the summers are very hot and dry, however the winters are freezing cold.
~Religion:
With China being a communist country, China does not have an official religion. However, the
government does officially recognize five religions: Buddhism, Taoism, Islam, Catholicism,
and Protestantism.
Chinese business people expect you to be well prepared for every meeting. Prepared means
having at least 20 copies of your proposal ready to hand out.
Chinese believe in establishing strong relationships before closing a deal, this may include you
meeting up several times to achieve your objectives.
Maintaining composure during meetings is very important. Causing embarrassment or showing
too much emotion could have a negative effect for a business negotiation later on.
People in China typically enter the meeting room in hierarchical order. So you must be careful
because they will assume that you are head of delegation

Business hours for Chinese workers are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday. Many Chinese workers
will take their break between 12:00 and 2:00 pm.

Handshakes within the business environment of China are common but you should wait for your
Chinese counterpart to initiate the gesture. Lastly, people should be addressed with a title followed by
their last name.
