PURPOSE OF STUDY

The purpose of this study is to undertake a detailed research on the various issues relating to Plea
Bargaining in India. This study is to analyze the object of the concept of plea bargaining and its
coherency with the actual practice affecting the administration of criminal justice system in
India.

RESEARCH QUESTIONS

1. Comment upon the concept of plea bargaining in India.

2. What are the objectives of plea bargaining in India?
3. What is the importance and effect of plea bargaining in administration of criminal
justice?

Plea bargaining is a new concept that has been widely used since its introduction due to various
factors. The following chapters deal with the above three questions and answer the questions in
the best possible way.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

In this study, analytical research methodology has been undertaken. Existing research on the
topic has been studied and analysed and also facts have been compiled and considered. Research
included in secondary sources like books, articles, expert reports have been studied and analysed
in order to know the problems and come to the conclusion as to the viability of the
recommendations to overcome them.
