To Whom It May Concern,

It is my privilege to write to you on behalf of Kilian Soper. I met Kilian when he was in elementary
school as he was a classmate of my son, and I always remember him being extremely passionate
about his interests. We reunited in high school as Kilian found a new passion, tennis, and I had the
opportunity to walk alongside him as his coach for his last two years of school. His generous spirit and
strong work ethic were immediately evident and made him a great teammate and role model to those
around him. Kilian is a rare young man, and I feel privileged to witness his development over his high
school career.

On the court Kilian tirelessly worked to improve his technical and mental game. Kilian grew as a player
and a young man due to the hard work and effort he brought to the tennis court every day. He would
regularly stay after to improve aspects of his individual game or would volunteer at youth tennis camps
to help the younger players develop. He is the kind of person that helps move an entire program
forward as his impact is felt both by the current players and those that will play in the future.

Kilian is honest and caring. While he is blessed with a witty humor, it is tempered with the wisdom to
know when and how to brighten up a situation. His interest in building relationships with true depth and
character were experienced by all.

In the midst of pain, when empathy is needed, Kilian is willing and able to reach out and care for those
in need of encouragement. I witnessed this on many occasions this past season as he helped
everyone see the impact of putting others before himself, a tremendous and rare skill for a high school
student. Kilian is a special individual that will be deeply missed when he graduates in the spring.

My respect for Kilian grows daily. I am very proud of the young man he is today, but even prouder of
who he is becoming. It has been a pleasure to have been a part of Kilian’s life and it is my privilege to
give him my highest recommendation for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Doug Blume
