Part II: Reflection

CANDIDATE REFLECTIONS:
(Minimum of 3-4 sentences per question)

1. Briefly describe the field experience. What did you learn about technology facilitation and
leadership from completing this field experience? This field experience took place at
Dutchtown Elementary with a second grade teacher. The main goal of the coaching session was to
provide support through face to face coaching sessions. In addition, modeling the use of web 2.0
tools for both students and the teachers was required. I learned the importance of understanding
teacher needs and ability levels. Communication, open dialogue, and knowledge of the Georgia
Standards of Excellence were very important during the coaching sessions.

2. How did this learning relate to the knowledge (what must you know), skills (what must you
be able to do) and dispositions (attitudes, beliefs, enthusiasm) required of a technology
facilitator or technology leader? (Refer to the standards you selected in Part I. Use the
language of the PSC standards in your answer and reflect on all 3—knowledge, skills, and
dispositions.) Providing one on one coaching proved to be informative and fun! I learned the
importance of collaborating and listening to teacher needs. I was able to select digital tools and
activities that aligned with the students learning styles and Georgia Standards of Excellence. The
teacher and I were able to create an authentic and fun learning experience for students as a result
of the coaching sessions. I learned the importance of communicating expectations clearly when
collaborating with others.
3. Describe how this field experience impacted school improvement, faculty development or
student learning at your school. How can the impact be assessed? This experience will
hopefully encourage the teacher to integrate technology with a purpose and goal within her
classroom. Hopefully the second grade teacher will share many of the great tools and ideas with
her team learned during our coaching sessions. The impact of the lesson can also be seen through
the student’s artifacts after each lesson.
