Reflect on what you’ve learnt. Consider what kind of digital story you could make for your
arts resource package. Also identify how you could adapt this activity for the age group your
resource package is targeting.

Using digital technologies is fun! It’s another outlet in which students can utilise when
creating artworks. It’s a personal favourite of mine, as I enjoy using the various softwares
that become available when incorporating ICT’s, including Photoshop and Adobe Premier.
When implementing this challenge within a Foundation to Year 2 classroom, PowerPoint
would be used as the key tool in creating the digital story, along with a classroom camera.
Here, students imagine a storyline before capturing photographs to accompany and emphasis
the narrative. Students then learn how to use PowerPoint in relation to the creation of a digital
story, gaining knowledge of importing photos and attaching voice overs to each slide.
Demonstrating their capabilities in creating visual arts whilst incorporating technologies
(ACARA, 2017).
