Job Title Heavy Equipment Operator Division/Department Operations

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Operates heavy machinery, such as a tractor, bulldozer, backhoe, or excavator, for the purposes of
construction, demolition, or excavation
 May be responsible for routine maintenance or repairs
 Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
 Operates various equipment for general site preparation, landscaping, snow removal, and related
assignments.
 Performs routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking oil, water, and tires
 Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous
improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices
 May lead, guide, and train staff/student employees, interns, and/or volunteers performing related
work; may participate in the recruitment of volunteers, as appropriate to the area of operation

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Education: At least High School Graduate
2. Experience/Training: Knowledgeable on light and heavy equipment operation and maintenance
