Comments
Kalynn taught both the badminton and the drug awareness unit in grade 9 physical education class. She
was well prepared; discussed outline of lessons and always self reflected; She was able to juggle the
everyday interruptions of students being absent, snow days and gym reallocation days. She introduced new
videos, peer pressure simulation exercises and was clear on her expectations.

Comments
Kalynn was friendly, engaging and encouraging to her students in both the classroom and the gym. Her
health activities were learner centred, active and practical.
She developed a good rapport with students and always acted in a professional manner. She also showed
appropriate classroom management to refocus her students when their behaviour was off task.

Comments
Kalynn's drug awareness unit was excellent. She used up to date materials and videos. She introduced a
peer pressure simulation with gummy bears so all students could feel peer pressure, then applied it to our
drug unit. She used a variety of technologies. Her three part lesson play was solid with clear learning goals,
minds on and activities.

Assessment / Evaluation

Comments
Kalynn's drug unit included a Poster presentation and gallery walk plus a small written test. She provided
feedback while working on the posters and assessed and returned to students within a few days. Her test
was a good overall summary of the unit.

Her badminton unit included skill assessment and a round robin tournament. She was able to break down
and assess the skills at a grade 9 level. Excellent Work Kalynn.

Additional Comments
Kalynn's confidence grew with each lesson. The students enjoyed both her lessons and her
friendly personality. She is an excellent teacher and will be an asset in any school.
