Stage 1: Tailored advice session

• Your assigned immigration lawyer will provide you with

expert advice which is tailored to your situation.
• This advice session can be conducted in person, over the
phone or via Skype.
• This is an untimed session; it usually lasts around an hour, but
your lawyer will spend as long as it takes to ensure every
aspect of your case is discussed in detail.
• It offers a chance to discuss your circumstances, goals and
any time constraints you have.
• It lets your lawyer build a picture of your case, assess your
eligibility and outline your next steps.
• You will receive written confirmation of the advice given,
which provides a detailed assessment of your circumstances

have any further questions after your session has finished.

Stage 2: Confirmation of points

• Your lawyer will confirm that you are eligible for the full 70
points for your application.
• Your lawyer will ensure you are fully equipped to meet the
English Language requirement expected for a Tier 2 Visa.
• If you do not already have a qualification that meets the
English Language standard, your lawyer will identify the best
route to take in proving your language ability.
• They will verify that you have the correct evidence to show
that you can support yourself in the country before you are
paid.

Stage 3: Communication with your employer

• Our services include maintaining contact with your

sponsorship provider.
• Your lawyer will ensure your employer holds the correct
Sponsor Licence and assist them with their application if
necessary.*
• They will liaise with your employer to obtain your Certificate
of Sponsorship (CoS), which you will need to make an
application for a Tier 2 Visa.
• Your lawyer will also ensure that your employer is compliant
with their responsibilities and duties as a Tier 2 employer,
which will help avoid any issues during your application or in
the future.

Stage 4: Resident Labour Market Test

• To apply for the Tier 2 General Visa, the position you have been
offered must pass the Resident Labour Market Test (RLMT).
• Your lawyer will confirm that the position has been available to
UK applicants for long enough to qualify for the international
market.
• As part of the communication with your employer, your lawyer
will ensure that they provide evidence of this.
• Your lawyer will confirm that your employer is offering you a
salary which conforms to the Home Office regulations and
meets the minimum salary threshold.
• Your lawyer will also be able to assess whether your position
appears on the UK shortage occupation list.
• Jobs on this list are not subject to the labour market test. Your
lawyer will advise you on whether this is applicable to you.

Stage 5: Thorough document check

• Your lawyer will draw up an extensive list of documents

agreed upon in your advice session which can be used to
support your application for a Tier 2 Visa.
• They will advise you on how to source any documents you
need for your Tier 2 Visa application – for example, any
previous employment records.
• If you are bringing over your spouse or children, your lawyer
will ensure they also have the necessary documents.
• Your lawyer will locate and resolve any gaps or issues in your
supporting documents, suggesting alternative documents
where necessary.
• Once this check is complete, ensuring that your documents
are sufficient and meet the highest standard, your lawyer will
file them in your evidence portfolio.

Home Office when they review your application.
• It will present your application in a way which is
