near&their&house&over&the&weekend&and&find&a&couple&of&different&rocks&or&bring&a&little&baggie&of&soil&or&dirt.&
Once&the&students&return&with&their&findings,&we&can&begin&our&lesson&on&rocks&and&soil.&The&students&will&be&
given&a&project&assignment&to&pick&one&of&their&rocks&or&bags&of&soil&that&they&brought&in,&and&do&a&research&
project&on&it.&The&students&will&research&their&type&of&rock&or&soil,&and&its&characteristics.&They&will&also&
research&different&factors&such&as&the&time,&wind,&water&and&heat&and&how&these&things&have&an&effect&over&
time&on&their&rocks&or&soil.&&
I&will&give&them&the&weekend&to&collect&their&rocks&and&soil,&and&the&whole&next&week&will&be&devoted&to&
working&on&their&research&projects,&which&will&be&made&into&a&presentation.&The&students&can&create&their&
presentations&using&PowerPoint,&or&create&a&video&using&iMovie&and&include&audio&using&the&Audacity&
software,&so&that&both&the&visual&and&auditory&learners&can&be&supported.&I&will&then&post&the&project&
presentation&on&the&class&blog,&with&parental&consent,&so&that&any&student&who&was&absent&can&view&

Importance(of(technology:(The&website]creation&tool&that&I&used&to&create&this&blog&is&crucial&to&the&project,&
because&students&would&not&have&access&to&the&project&or&the&instructions&to&the&project&without&access&to&the&
blog.&The&rubric&and&instructions&will&be&explained&in&class,&but&will&also&be&posted&on&the&blog&for&reference,&if&
needed,&so&the&blog&is&crucial&for&this&project.&The&Audacity&audio&software&is&also&used&in&this&project,&which&is&
used&to&explain&the&project&itself.&Without&using&this&software,&the&students&would&not&be&able&to&listen&to&the&

fun&for&students&because&it&allows&them&to&be&creative,&as&well&as&letting&them&guide&their&own&learning,&since&
they&get&to&choose&what&their&presentation&is&on.&Allowing&students&to&choose&what&to&learn&about&makes&
students&more&motivated,&so&I&believe&that&students&would&enjoy&this&lesson&and&as&a&result,&have&a&better&
understanding&of&the&concepts.&!
