    I am writing this letter to explain why I was absent from work yesterday. At around 4:30 am, the ceiling of
    our hose caught fire. During this time my sister and I woke up due to the smell of burning fumes. We had to
    momentarily evacuate our house while the fire was being extinguished. The fire was allegedly caused by
    damages to the wirings caused by rodents. Because of the incident I left my cell phone in my room thus I was
    not able to inform in time my department of the situation that transpired at home.

    I am truly sorry for any inconvenience my absence yesterday may have caused. I am hoping for your kind
    consideration regarding this matter.
