Engineering: The lesson will come together by using our bodies to dance while playing the

music in the background. This song was chosen because of its rhythm. The pictures will give the

students an idea of what to expect and what shapes are going to be used to dance to.

Math: Geometry

Props/Materials: We are using pictures of shapes that are on a house which include a triangle, a

square, and a star. Also we are using a phone and stereo to play our music.

Music: Bailando by: Enrique Iglesias

Standards: 1.5 Perform movement tasks based on elements of space (personal space, shapes,

lines, and size), time and energy and using the working space, inside, outside and around a circle.

Lesson: Hello everyone, My name is Ms. Segura. Today we will be learning math through

dance. Let’s pretend it is raining, so we have to place a roof which is the shape of a triangle on

the top our heads. Like this (We model) Now it’s your turn, Good. Now let’s try it together, good

job! Now we are going to form a triangle with our feet like this (demonstrate) Let’s see you guys

do it, good. Now together. We are now going to build the house which is going to be in the

shape of a square with our hands like this: let me see you do it, now together.
Next, we will form a square using our feet (same as above) let me see you, now together.

Lastly, we will create a star. We are going to do a star jump, like this (demonstrate). Let me see

you do it, now together. Good job guys. Now the teachers are going to demonstrate the dance,

then we will do it together, then we will see how you guys do it.

Jobs: assist, supervise and walk around to make sure everyone is participating.
