Overall aim and context of the lesson

1- learn the definition of opinion and fact.

2- what the difference is between opinion and fact.

Positive aspect of the lesson:

The positive thing the during in my English lesson was at the beginning when the children
entered the classroom, I asked them about the meaning of the words “opinion” and “fact”
because I wanted know if they had an idea or not. After that I told them what both words meant
and in order to help them to understand, I gave them examples of these words. Moreover, I let
the student give me examples, and when they did, I made sure they understood. I think that was
good when I asked them to give me examples because I wanted know what they had
understood. Furthermore, the second thing that was very good was when I played a video for
them, all the students payed attention to it. When the video finished, I asked them what they had
learned from the video. The third way to understand the student’s explanation in another way
was a game. I gave them two cards and I told them sentences. After that the student had to put
the card up when they answered. Students who answered correctly completed the game,
whereas students who answered wrongly were out of the game. Moreover, the students were
enjoying the game and enthusiastic. The final student received a gift as the winner. According
to Skinner’s theory (punishment, reinforces, reward), the last activity involved a reward and all
the students tried to think in order to get the gift.
Requires Attention:

However, I noticed when I was playing with the students during the contest questions, raising
the correct card, I think some students did not understand well the meaning of the words of the
sentence, and they only randomly responded in order to get the prize. I think this is a negative
aspect of this game. However, I thought I should have asked them “Why did you choose this
card?”, to make sure that the students understood the sentence. Moreover, when I asked students
to answer they gave me an example, I randomly selected students so I had to ask all the students
to make sure everyone understood the lesson. Another approach, for example, would be to give
each student a paper and let them write one sentence of opinion and fact. After that I could let
the students read their sentence for the whole class. In this way all the students will share their
information with the others and each student will learn from another student.

Personal focus for the next lesson:

Success and achievement of the goal in the classroom, so the first thing is the control of the
classroom, and motivating students to study or explain the lesson in different ways. It is good
to say good words for the students to raise the morale of the student. For instance, good job,
well done, smart student, and perfect. It is important not to shout in the classroom to gain
respect from all the students, because some students can be stubborn, so if you shout at them
they will not pay attention in the lesson. Moreover, it is essential to have a diversity of
activities, and present the lesson in for different types of students because not all students are of
the same level. In order to be sure all the students understand the lesson, it is essential to
monitor students during the activity to be sure all the students work. Finally, it’s always useful
to review lesson with students when you finish the lesson.
