This past year, I took on mentoring a student teacher from Keene State College. I worked with them to refine their lesson
planning, rehearsal and classroom procedures, and content knowledge. I also evaluated the student teacher on their
performance within the Danielson Domains and submitted those to the college’s education department.

Music Teacher, Band & Choir Director August 2015–Present


School Administrative Unit 60 – Charlestown/Walpole, NH
In this position I direct the 6-8 bands in Charlestown and Walpole, NH. I’ve implemented new band curriculum to improve
music literacy, began a chamber music project, traveled with students to festivals, and brought in clinicians to work with my
groups. I also direct the beginning band programs in the two primary schools of the Charlestown Attendance Area. Additional
courses included multiple sections of general music from 4–6th grade in various buildings throughout the district. I’ve also
taken on many other roles in my school such as Drama Club Director where I’m leading a production and Building
Technology Leader where I’m currently finishing my Google certification.

Assistant Director 2013–2015


Beast of the East Band – Durham, NH
I conducted the University of New Hampshire’s pep band at all conference basketball games. I also conducted at hockey
games when needed. I have traveled with the group to the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, New Hampshire and the
TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts.

Faculty and Equipment Manager July–August 2014/5/6/7


Summer Youth Music School – Durham, NH
As a faculty member I’ve taught euphonium and tuba masterclasses, brass and percussion sectionals, as well as a conducting
class. This included music selection, daily lesson planning, differentiated instruction, as well as private and group lessons. As
equipment manager, I ensured all classrooms had the required equipment, rehearsal spaces were clean and set up properly,
and managed the stage for concerts and evening events.

Graduate Assistant 2013–2015


University of New Hampshire – Durham, NH
I served as the assistant conductor for the UNH Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, and Concert Band. As assistant
conductor, I regularly conducted ensembles in concert and rehearsal, selected repertoire, and wrote program notes. I was also
on the staff of the Wildcat Marching Band and would clinic sections on music, marching technique, and provide assistance
with the equipment and technology used for each rehearsal.

Long-term Substitute – Music February 2013–May 2013


Merrimack Middle School – Merrimack, NH
I was the full-time band director while the current teacher was on maternity leave. I taught private and group lessons
throughout the day, a concert band and jazz band before school, as well as extra help after school. While at Merrimack, I
took a small group of students to Plymouth State University to participate in the Solo and Ensemble Festival. I also took
students to Manchester Central High School to participate in the Mid-Level Honors Band Festival.

I conducted the KSC Concert Band and Chamber Singers in a combined performance of Eric Whitacre’s Sleep.

Murdock Middle/High School – Winchendon, MA
I conducted the orchestra for a high school production of Into the Woods and provided edits to the music that would allow the
director and choreographer to stage the production as they wished.
Principal Tuba 2014–2015

As the principal tubist I performed for two concerts each semester as well as additional clinics and masterclasses. I also served
as a soloist on their latest recording, The Music of Michael Annicchiarico, which was produced by Mark Custom and is
available through Spotify, Naxos, and for purchase.

I played bass trombone for The Music Man and provided assistance to the director in assigning parts to the musicians.

Advocacy and Membership Outreach Council Chair April 2015–Present
New Hampshire Music Educators Association – Manchester, NH
I oversee all state advocacy efforts including Music in Our Schools Month, Hill Day in Washington, D.C., and our social
media accounts. I also write to our representatives in Concord and Washington to inform them about our organization’s
position on issues surrounding music education and a well-rounded education. I regularly attend and present at state
conferences.

I meet with the director of advocacy and discuss federal legislation, advocacy initiatives, membership engagement, and
strategic planning for the state of New Hampshire.
Arts Graduation Competency Task Force 2014

I worked with a group of arts educators and Marcia McCaffrey to put forward a draft of arts competencies to be considered as
the requirements for high school graduation in New Hampshire.
New Hampshire Quarter Notes Editor 2013–Present

I produce the state’s quarterly journal, which is distributed to music educators, superintendents, and college students
throughout the state. I use Adobe InDesign and Illustrator to create a professional looking journal that is available in print and
online. I also regularly contribute articles.
Music Coalition Chair April 2013–Present

I work with the New Hampshire Department of Education, New Hampshire State Council on the Arts, and New Hampshire
Citizens for the Arts on various advocacy efforts at the state and federal level. I have led initiatives on New Hampshire’s Ed
306 Minimum Standards for Public School Approval, Jeanne Shaheen’s Supporting Afterschool STEM Act, the National
Coalition for Core Arts Standards’ Music Standards, and the implementation of Every Student Succeeds Act as it pertains to
NH state policy and music education.

Commissioning a Choral Work Session April 2012


Academic Excellence Conference – Keene, NH
I presented one of the first music sessions at this conference and shared the process of commissioning a choral work. Earlier in
the year, I had commissioned Dr. Heather Gilligan to write a piece for the Keene State College Chamber Singers that I would
later conduct in concert. The piece was meant to capture the life of a farmer as a part of our collaboration with Stonewall Farm.
In this session, I talked about why we commission music, what the commissioning process looks like, and how to work with a
composer on developing a piece. The session ended in a world premiere performance of The Farmer by Dr. Heather Gilligan.
