Using a coaxial cable of RG 140

Its characteristic impedance is Zo = 75 ohms, attenuation @30Mhz is 6dB/100m, Capacitance of 21pF/ft,

assume an inductance of 1uH/m resistance of 0.1ohms/m and conductance is negligible. We put a load
of 1kohms.

With assume value length of transmission of 5Km. Frequency of operation in a Television is 3.5 Mhz the
velocity factor of a coaxial is 0.66 its with the 5km distance the propagation delay would be 2.5 ns.

The circuit we use is AM modulator Circuit

Lossless line type 1
We set the nominal impedance of 75 ohms and propagation delay of 2.5ns but as we run the simulation
we observe that it run slow because of the amount of processing the cpu doing so we adjust it to 50ms
so we can see more clearly

Resistor Capacitor

inductor

We have observe that at first there are no signal at the output side but after how many micro seconds
the signal reaches which is the green one that is outputting. Meaning there is a propagation delay.

The Capacitor is just the same as the resistor output but produces less voltage.

In the inductor we observe in the simulation the inductor shorted and so the output becomes zero
affecting the input becoming dc.
Lossless line type 2
We set the nominal impedance of 75 ohms and a signal of the television of 3.5 Mhz and the electrical
length of 90.

Capacitor Inductor

Resistor

We have observe that the larger the frequency the more identical it becomes but as we increase the
electrical length the signal make a phase shift. Also this line type the out is just the same as the resistor
but it gives lesser output. While the inductor also shorted in this one and the simulation seems produces
bug and output nothing but a broken line.
Lossy transmission line
Length of transmission line is assume to be 5km, resistance of 0.1 ohms/m, and inductance of 1uH/m.
The RG 140 coaxial cable has 6.4pF/m and conductance is assume to be negligible.

Resistor

Capacitor

inductor

As we could see the signal that has come out to the output becomes attenuated hence the amplitude
decreases. But there is no delay or phase shift happening only decrease of signal level. Inductor produce
the least output almost becomes zero the resistor only attenuate but not that much but in capacitor it
almost becomes DC.
