DRRM ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT


Period Covered: September 28, 2017
Name of School: Munguia National High School

I. Rationale

Earthquake is one of the famous disasters that caused people died or


injured. It cannot be detected by when and where it would be happened to
anyone. This is mostly happened in places where people are hanging around
and working. Earthquake is understood by being natural phenomenon caused
by the constant movements of the earth’s crustal plates and due to climate
change too.

Connectively, MUNGUIA NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL conducted the


simultaneous school-based earthquake drill on September 28, 2017 at 9:00 a.m
wherein the 3RD QUARTER SIMULTANEOUS EARTHQUAKE DRILL was mandate
that all Public and private schools and DepEd offices full cooperation with the
NDRRMC should undertake the drill.

Before the actual drill, Ms. JINGKY S. PADDIT, the School DRRM
Coordinator undertook orientation about the conduct of the earthquake drill.
She disseminated the information about the occurrence of earthquake as well
as the needs to carry out information to enhance the students awareness on the
safety measures before, during and after. In the midst of changing world comes
serious number of disastrous and devastating phenomenon- accidents,
typhoons, flashfloods, fires and earthquakes. Hence it is, necessary that
everybody is informed of the precautionary and safety measures or standards
during life’s catastrophic events. Aimed at installing to students’ knowledge on
the earthquake and fire, its cause and effect and the proper ways of dealing with
it during and after the event.

III. EMERGING GOOD PRACTICES

 Followed the Duck, Cover and Hold technique.


 Ringing of the bell is loudly enough to be heard by the students.
 Trained student’s leader to act rescuer and first aider for the drill.
 Call up attention of PTA President, and Emergency Response Unit from the Local
Governments Unit.

IV. LEARNING EXPERIENCES, LESSONS LEARNED, REALIZATIONS

 Based from the feedbacks and recommendation given by the evaluators, I have come to
realize lot of improvement and more innovation still needed to come up to a successful
drill.
