Introduction (warmer activity + teacher introduction/demonstration of small group activities)

- Start greeting children, asking them” How are you today?” , “ What is the day of
today?” and “ What was yesterday?”

- Taking attendance, count the students.

- I will have a gift box outside the class, the door will knock and one student will go to
open the door he will find a gift box the students will surprise. Then I will give the
students time to think and while they think will listen to mystery box song and start
think what is inside the box.

- Will see who will open the box and see what is inside it, ohhh its butterfly. I will ask the
students let’s guess “ How many butterfly inside it?”

- Will have a time to count the butterfly and discuss what we will learn which number?
Time: 15 min

- Then will get the poster out and let the students see how is number 13 written.

- Give the students instruction such as each students have to share the resource.

- Students follow the instruction and start the activity when all the students start together.

- Each student will have a white cards as a white board and markers.

- Then I will show the students how to write number 13 and what does it. It’s number 10
plus three or twelve plus one.

- I will give them 30 second to write number 13.

- The student will write their name and the date on the top on the worksheet.

- The students will read the question and find number 13 and make a circle.

- The students before they move to another activity, will make sure the table is clean.

- Students follow the instruction and start the activity when all the students start together.

- Each student will have a worksheet coloring the numbers.

- The students will color each number with different colors.

- Each student will have a worksheet about addition and subtraction with number 13.

Ø Who will finish early will have two more activities:

- Teen Bingo each students will have a bingo card with marker.

- It’s group work activity, first student choose a number the other students dash the
number, each students has a chance to choose the numbers.

- Numbers flashcard, the flashcards has a numbers the students will have a basket beers.

- The students will see the numbers and put the beers on the cards such as card number 13
the students should add 13 beers.

- The students before they move to another activity, will make sure the table is clean.

- At the end I will give the students five minute for clean-up.

- I will start let the students attention to the lesson and see what they did and understand
from the activities.

Overall aim and context of the lesson

The Students did learned the number 13, count from 1 to 20, recognized number 13 and write number 13.

Select (S):
The overview of the lesson that I did yesterday during math period was grateful and better than what I did
at the first time. I start the lesson by asking them about days of the week. I got the students attention while
the door is knock, they start surprised by what they found in front the door. They found a gift box and get
them excited to know what inside the gift box. In general the students were interacting with me that keep
me felt during the lesson comfortable and reduce stress. Moreover, what it made me success in my lesson ,
that I followed my MCT instruction and tried to improve the feedback that he gave me last time.

On 6 March,2018 I taught a student who are 4 to 5 years old and they are in KG1-A. the lesson that I taught
them was about number 13 in the classroom, I taught them in the classroom because I used technology
during the lesson. I engaged the students attention while the door in knock, than all the students
were enthusiastic to know who is knocking the door, and they were surprised because they saw a gift box.
Before I introduce the concept I showed the students video about counting from 1 to 20. Then I get them
excited to know how to write number 13 by shows them the poster that I did. I did for the students Four
activities. I gave High students Level challenging activity to let them challenge their self and the activity
was about solving problems to find number 13 and color it. Second activity was finding number 13. Third
activity was bingo cards. Last activity was collecting objects with counting numbers. At the end of the lesson
I ask the students to count numbers ordering from 1 to 13 than from 13 to 1.

How well did you engage the students?

During the activity time I saw how the students were responded to me. I got their attention with mastery box
in the begging of the lesson, that how I got the students attention and what made the students more excited
when I shake the box and asked them to guess what inside the box. The students respond while I shows
them video counting from 1 to 20 song, they were excited and count with the video. The students were
engaged with the poster have number 13 picture and 13 flowers because before I start the lesson I hid it with
yellow cloth, then I take it out and they surprised.

Did your lesson meet your teaching goals?

At the end of the lesson I felt how I achieved my goals by ask them questions like what comes after number
12, what is before number 14?. And I was managing the students behavior by using a reward system.
Moreover, I gave all the students a small whiteboard to let them write number 13 to make sure that all the
students are able to write the number and they are not facing any difficulties on writing the number.

How might you enhance student learning of this lesson in the future?
What are the implications for your professional practice?

In the future I would try to use the projector to see what the students did answer in the worksheets. During
this lesson I gave the students to write number 13 after I showed them, I would prefer to do that at the end
of the lesson to make sure all the students understand. Also I could now the student who don’t know how to
write number 13 and spend with him more time teach and gave them extra worksheet. Moreover, I would
teach the students how to count from up to down and what is before and after the number. And I will try to
prepare several strategies to keep the students in control.
