Intake Pressure/Temperature Sensor April 2012
Intake Pressure/
Temperature Sensor
The intake pressure/temperature sensor is mounted to the cold boost pipe (charge air pipe) on the left side of the engine. The
motor control module (MCM-MCM2-MCM2.1) determines the air pressure and air temperature of the air entering the engine
from a signal received from the intake pressure/temperature sensor.
1. Apply the parking brakes, shut down the engine, and chock the tires. Raise the hood.
a. Figure below shows an Intake Pressure/Temperature Sensor
2. Disconnect the electrical wiring harness connector to the Intake Pressure/Temperature Sensor (3) located on the cold boost
pipe (1).
3. Remove the bolts that attach the protective cover (if applicable).
4. Remove the fasteners (2) that attach the Intake Pressure/Temperature Sensor, and then remove the sensor.
Install as follows:
1. Lubricate the seal ring from the sensor with grease.
2. Install the intake pressure/temperature sensor to the cold boost pipe with the appropriate wrench on the hex end of the
sensor. Torque to 10 N·m (7 lb·ft).
3. Install the harness connection onto the sensor and push down on the gray tab to lock the harness onto sensor.
4. Install the protective cover using the existing bolts. Torque to 10 N·m (7 lb·ft).
