LIVING ON THE PLANET EARTH INTEGRATION FOR MUSIC

OBJECTIVE:

At the end of the class, the students are expected to:

1. Distinguish between loud and soft musical sounds.


2. Tell which dynamics level (fast or slow) is appropriate for portraying music about nature.
3. Understand the relationship of nature to music
4. Explain the difference between sound levels and dynamic levels in music.

PROCEDURE:

A. LEARNING ACTIVITIES

 “Let us pray”  (one student will lead the prayer)

 Class, once I call your name please raise your  (students raise their right and say present as
right hand and say present. the teacher calls in their name)
 Please pick up the pieces of paper under your  (the students pick up the pieces of paper
chair and arrange your chair before you sit. before they sit)

I. MOTIVATION
 Class before we proceed I prepared an activity.
I will be grouping you into two groups, each
group will choose one representative to
complete the puzzle.  Okay ma’am
 MECHANIC
Each representative of the group needs to
reveal the hidden phrase by filling the space
provided above each numbers. Each number is
equivalent to one letter.
 The first one to complete the puzzle is the
winner and will be receiving a prize.  Okay ma’am
 Okay, let us proceed.
 (the teacher will be choosing two students)
 (the chosen students will perform the task
given)

 Congratulations, (student A or B) finished the


puzzle first.
 The phrase is “LIVING ON THE PLANET EARTH
INTEGRATION FOR MUSIC”
 Class, our today’s lesson will be tackling with
the puzzle you performed.
II. PRESENTATION
A. Activity
 Class, I prepared a simple activity.
1. The class will be grouped into two (2) and
each group will be given a task to perform.
2. Each group must answer the question
provided.

(NATURE – fast and slow dynamic level)

FOR GROUP 2
(CULTURE – loud and soft sound level)
Question to be answered:
Tell which sound level (loud or soft) is appropriate
for portraying music about nature.
1. Fiesta Celebration
2. Christmas Celebration
3. Mourning and Burial
4. Holy Week Celebration
5. Courtship and Marriage

B. Analysis
 On the task that Group1 performed. They
are able to determine what dynamic level is
appropriate in portraying music about
nature.
Fast dynamic designates an acceleration or
speed on the tempo of music. It usually
delivers a cheerful, extreme or strong mood
as it plays.
Slow dynamic denotes a calm and cold
feeling as it is used as music dynamic. The
tempo is at slow rate.

 On the task that Group2 performed. Sound


levels are determined.
Loud sound level, denotes a strong emotion
of happiness and joy. It usually uses a high
rate of volume, which can be cheerful and
fun.
Soft sound levels, uses a low rate of volume
that usually denotes sincerity, sorrow and
calmness.

C. Abstraction
 Class, based on your activity and discussion
what is the difference between the loud and
soft sounds, and fast and slow dynamic level.
