Key Player Messages

● Liam/Jordy (FWs) - Can we drop into the gap between the Cm’s & Fw to
receive the ball and allow the CM’s to run ahead? Bounce, clip or spin.
● Vinny (CDM) - Look for opportunities to pivot as much as possible. Lets draw
them into the left/right and then expose them on the other side.
● Jinsei/Olly (LW/RW) - Take full backs on 1v1 and look to then cut in or cross
● Harri/Deano (CBs) - Keep working on your dropping to receive to allow us to
pivot. Improving every game, keep it up!
● Flynn/Callum (LB/RB) - Look for opportunities to overlap and attack
● Nick (GK) - Play with your feet as much as possible, If CB’s are under
pressure, let them play back to you, take a touch and play short to the next
option.
Playing Style - Controlled Possession.

● In Possession | Play through Def > Mid > Fwd, Be patient in build up and
draw opposition into our half or one side of the field before playing forward or
switching the play.
● Out Possession | Press high up the field, go compact and deny space in the
middle
● Losing The Ball | Can we press the ball (BLAST) and win in 6 seconds? If
not, go compact and deny space
● Winning The Ball | If overloaded can we counter within 5 passes or if
underloaded can we play into space and slow down. (Counter or stabilize)
● Set Pieces | Take advantage of attacking corners through routines #1 & 2
Game Plan

● Opponents | Claudelands have been the whipping boys for the league so far
this year conceding 39 goals in 3 games. Not much info on the team.
● Play Smart | Stick to the system and play to our strengths, play smart and
avoid playing emotionally. Look for opportunities to draw the opponent in or
pivot and then play forward. This game is a fantastic opportunity to continue
to refine our playing style (player movements). 65% Possession minimum.
● Final 3rd Movement | We’re likely to play most of the game in their final 3rd,
play off the striker and attack a speed.
● Draw to one side, play to the other | Focus on our positional play, make
sure we’re playing short on one side and then pivot out to the other.
Build Up Shape
● LW, FW, RW start high up
in C.Rs half as no offside.
Nick can use these boys to
play long to ⅕ build ups. If
ball is played out to CBs.
All 3 drop back on-side.
● Create Diamonds as
shown!
● Can always go back to
keeper if under pressure
(Play out to other side).
● Patient controlled build
up
Final 3rd Attacking
● Can our forward drop into
the gap between opp lines
and receive the ball?
● If FW makes movement
that is a trigger for our CMs
to run forward and look to
receive the ball and play
forward to wingers making
curved runs in behind.
● Can we attack quickly in
the final 3rd (4 passes at
most). If unable can we
recycle and play back to
CDM.
